Colin Kaepernick hasn’t been the center of the NFL’s attention in a while, so Netflix went ahead and gave him a special where he gets to compare the NFL Combine to a slave auction. The man and his producers are actually attempting to say that voluntarily trying out and working your butt off to get a contract in the NFL is akin to being kidnapped by a rival tribe, shackled, and sold to human beings to be used as a sentient tool in homes or on farms.
Obviously, watching the show isn’t recommended unless you have that “white guilt” one hears so much about and you want to torture yourself. Maybe you committed some kind of social sin and just feel the need to repent. Normally I try to review these shows and give an opinion, but I’ll be honest, I could only watch the trailer, and I barely made it through that because I believe the man is such an obvious hypocrite and waste of talent who is only about making money while stealing focus from more deserving players.
What amazes me is the amount of people who fall all over themselves to help this man get rich.
Let’s take a look at his career, or rather the end of his career in the NFL.
To be absolutely clear, Colin Kaepernick was never “fired” or cut from the NFL. He didn’t give the team he was on, the San Francisco 49ers, a chance to cut him, either. (Though that was their intent due to an injury and several key losses after his return to his starting position as QB). Kaepernick made the decision to opt out of his contract on March 3rd, 2017.
The following season ended with Kaepernick still unsigned. Now, several in his camp and those who supported Kaepernick thought the NFL was blackballing him, which was why he “filed a grievance” against the NFL on October 15th, 2017. Oddly enough, the black players who were kneeling with Kaepernick during 2016 season and continued to do so during the 2017 season weren’t being colluded against or kept from playing.
Many timelines won’t include the offers that were made to Colin Kaepernick that either were rescinded or that were declined by the former 49ers QB. Probably because it paints Kaepernick in a pretty greedy light. For instance, retired Baltimore Raven’s player Ray Lewis tried to talk to Kaepernick, and it was reported in September of 2017 that Lewis believed the Ravens would reach out to make a deal.

Kaepernick’s girlfriend then posted the following tweet…

That’s when Ray Lewis made it clear that Kaepernick and his girlfriend were the real reason behind his unemployment during the 2017-18 season with the NFL.
Per Inside the NFL release, Ray Lewis believes the Ravens were ready to sign Kaepernick until Kaepernick’s girlfriend offended with a tweet.

While many said Lewis’ story wasn’t true, it doesn’t really matter since the internet is forever and Nessa’s tweet is still present and accounted for. Under what circumstances would anyone want to sign someone for millions of dollars that will turn around and call them racists? You can’t deny the accusation was made in Nessa’s tweet.
Of course, there were other rumors of other teams trying to sign Kaepernick or maybe considering signing him. John Elway, the manager and former QB for the Denver Broncos, stated outright that the controversial QB refused to sign with them. Some have pointed out they believe that Colin was still under contract at the time, but what about the Seattle Seahawks?
Were they supposed to cut Russ Wilson and Geno Smith (both of whom are also of African American descent) for the sake of Kaepernick? Pete Carrol, the head coach of the Seahawks stated he didn’t want to put Russ Wilson or Kaepernick in that position. He stated again and again that he felt both were starting QBs and that while Carroll believed in the kneeling, he needed to stick with his Super Bowl champion QB.
Then came the tryout where leftists in the media did everything they could to smear the NFL as the ones who played dirty. First off, Kaepernick was offered the opportunity to a private tryout for teams struggling to find QBs, something the NFL has never done before. Kaepernick moved the tryout unexpectedly when he found out that only team reps would be allowed to watch or film the activities and his camera crews would not be permitted.
One of his biggest supporters, rapper Jay-Z, expressed his own disappointment and belief that Kaepernick squandered an opportunity for the sake of a publicity stunt.

Now that Colin has given up any hopes of becoming a QB for the NFL again, he’s decided to make a show about himself with obviously untrue and exaggerated stories from his past. How do I know that? Because he grew up and was raised in California and as a natural athlete played basketball, baseball, and football. In CALIFORNIA.
Here are three different reactions to the scene spoken about earlier.
How dare @Kaepernick7 compare the evil endured by so many of our ancestors to a bunch of millionaires who CHOSE to play game. https://t.co/fy01QlVV2f

Colin Kaepernick compares the NFL combine, which allows all players of all races a voluntary chance to become multi-millionaires, to slavery. Anyone still defending this imbecile lacks a functional brain. pic.twitter.com/rMaKi7c6xh
