Governor Abbott, Texas governor and staunch defender of his state, is stepping up to the plate yet again. Building on another victory of Team Brandon, his rejection of the jab mandate for the Texas National Guard, Abbott recently highlighted that Texas is building the border wall to defend citizens from illegals.
About six months ago, shortly after Brandon assumed power and opened the floodgates of illegal immigration, Governor Abbott declared that Texas would build its own border wall. At the time, he said:
“The Biden administration has abandoned its responsibilities to secure the border and Texans are suffering as a result. The problems along the border are only getting worse due to President [Joe] Biden’s inaction. Property is being destroyed, deadly drugs and illegal weapons are being smuggled into communities throughout the state, law enforcement is having to redirect their resources, and county judges and mayors are facing skyrocketing expenses.
Texas is doing more than any state has ever done to protect the border, but it is clear that more is needed. In the Biden administration’s absence, Texas is stepping up to get the job done by building the border wall. Through this comprehensive public safety effort, we will secure the border, slow the influx of unlawful immigrants, and restore order in our border communities.”
Now, he’s finally made good on that promise. During a debut of Texas’s new border wall on Saturday, Abbott said:
“Texas is taking what truly is unprecedented action by any state ever for a state to build a wall on our border to secure the sovereignty of the United States as well as our own state. And this unprecedented action is needed for one single reason, and that’s because the Biden administration has failed to do its job as required by law as passed by Congress to enforce the immigration laws of the United States of America.”
He added that the Texas Department of Public Safety alone has confiscated enough fentanyl from illegal border crossers to kill everyone in the state of Texas and that the drug, largely created with Chinese chemicals, is the leading cause of death for Americans 18-45.
Abbott next added that “And it [fentanyl] must be stopped. The people who are making money off of this are the gangs and the cartels that our DPS and National Guard are working to apprehend every single day.”
To stop it, he’s constructing the border wall he promised months ago. And, unlike the promise-much, do nothing RINOs, he’s actually building it. As Just the News reported:
The wall is steel and constructed in a similar fashion as the wall erected by the Trump administration, but the portion debuted Saturday was made by a local Texas company, McAllen Strong Steel.
The Texas border wall construction is part of a multifaceted approach the state of Texas has taken since Abbott initiated Operation Lone Star in March. It also is part of a $3 billion initiative approved by the Texas Legislature to fund border security efforts in Texas.
Abbott said the National Guard already has been putting up border barriers along the Texas-Mexico border, including container ships and razor wire, boat barricades in the water and fencing on private property.
So, thanks to Abbott, Texas has a “big, beautiful wall” to keep out criminal illegals and the drugs they cart across with them. If only more GOP politicians were willing to stand up for their constituents!
