Shortly after President Biden’s inauguration on January 20th, 2021, former President Trump’s tens of millions of supporters started the call for Mr. Trump to run again in 2024.
With challenges of the 2020 elections still underway, Trump stayed focused on exposing the election fraud reported in AZ, GA, NV, PA, WI, and MI, and in trying to overturn the 2020 election results believing the voters had cast their ballots wanting him to serve a second term.
As Biden mismanaged the rollout of the COVID vaccines by increasing the federal overreach in mandating jabs for millions of federal employees, against the data showing a lack of efficacy from them, Americans looked for governors to stand up and fight against the overreach.
Of the handful of Republicans who took the stand, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has stood out from them all. DeSantis has fought against the lockdowns, mask, and vaccine mandates during Biden’s entire time in office, leading him to be targeted by the administration on a regular basis.
Trump was asked about his thoughts on Governor Desantis’s job during an interview with Michael Savage on Monday.
Trump praised Governor DeSantis despite several reports speculating on friction between them.
“He’s a good guy and he’s doing a good job,”
https://megaphone.link/ADV8270731677 – Trump calls Savage his ‘lucky charm’ in this exclusive Savage Nation interview. As the world waits on the brink, Savage asks what the nation needs to know… Who was Clinton’s spy in Trump’s White House? How would Trump avoid World War III with Russia? Will DeSantis be his running mate? Can America be saved?
Trump has dismissed reports of “friction” between the two political camps as “totally fake news.”
Trump said in January, “He’s been a friend of mine for a long time. It’s totally fake news. I think Ron said last week — he said it very publicly — the press is never going to get in the middle of my friendship with Donald Trump.”
Trump commented on DeSantis after Savage asked if the former president would consider choosing him as a running mate if he ran again in 2024.
“I would consider a lot of people,” Trump replied, noting that Republicans had a wide range of great leaders in the country.
The former president reminded Savage and his audience that he endorsed DeSantis in the Florida Republican primary for governor when he was only getting single digits in the polling.
“Yeah, he’s good. I endorsed Ron when he was a three — three percent, you know?” Trump remarked. “I’m very strongly vested and invested in him.”
DeSantis will be governor of Florida through 2026, but his widespread popularity in the state and his leadership role during the coronavirus pandemic have earned him wide praise from conservative activists.
With his increased national recognition, many political pundits, including “never-Trumpers”, leftists, and passivate patriots who like the governor’s style of leadership, have asked Ron if he is open to running for president in 2024.
The Insider is reporting:
Gov. Ron DeSantis says he’s not considering a presidential run because he’s busy ‘trying to make sure people are not supporting critical race theory’.
Gov. Ron DeSantis of Florida on Wednesday said he isn’t currently considering a presidential run in 2024 because he’s busy making sure “people are not supporting critical race theory.”
“I’m not considering anything beyond doing my job. We got a lot of stuff going on in Florida. I’m going to be running for reelection next year,” the Republican told Fox News host Sean Hannity.
“We are also working on a lot of things in the state beyond the governor’s race. We got school-board races,” DeSantis added. “I want to make sure people are not supporting critical race theory, making sure that parents have the ability to send their kid to school the way they want to.”
