Unlike any administration in American history, President Joe Bidens’ has had an “all hands on deck” approach to creating and maintaining an open southern border.
With this approach not being acceptable to a majority of the American population, the left has tried to mask this effort in the name of being a compassionate country allowing those seeking asylum to find a safe place to come to.
Finally one of the 2 more centrist Democratic Senators is calling Biden out.
Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ), who is chair of the U.S. Senate subcommittee on border management, met with the front-line leadership trying to manage the migrant crisis. This included officials from immigration and customs enforcement and border patrol.
During a press conference on Thursday, Sinema suggested that the Biden administration has not made it a priority to stop illegal immigration and drug trafficking across the southern border despite its having major impacts on American communities in California, Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas.
“Nothing, there’s not been any active steps to stem the flow of migrants from the border,” Sinema said, according to local media. “One of the things I’ve been working on with my colleagues in both parties is to discuss the fact that the current flow is unsustainable.”
Chris Clem, chief of the Yuma Sector Border Patrol, told Sinema he is processing over 1,000 migrants each morning.
“We do not have the person-power to do that work,” Sinema said. “Our CBP officers are stretched incredibly thin at our ports of entry.”
Border patrol agents have also told Sinema they are spending less than 10% of their time on patrol as they transport a record number of individuals who approach the border between ports of entry.
“D.C. has shown little regard for the actual crisis that’s occurring in Arizona, and we know that,” Sinema continued. “We’ve paid the price for the federal government’s failure to fix our broken immigration system for most of my lifetime.”
Sinema who represents the border state of Arizona has been pushing to increase the number of U.S. Border Patrol agents stationed across the southern border.
In addition, more in line with the far left, Sinema is also supporting legislation that funds communication programs reaching across Mexico and Central America to warn potential migrants not to take the often deadly journey to the border.
“There hasn’t been as much movement on this as those of us in border states like Arizona and Texas have been calling for, for many years,” Sinema said.
“The administration does need to take action,” Sinema added.
In 2021, more than two million border crossers and illegal aliens arrived at the southern border. This year, experts predict this to increase to more than 2.1 million.
In addition, hundreds of thousands of border crossers and illegal aliens are being released into the U.S. interior every few months. From January 2021 to August 2021, for example, more than half a million were released into the U.S. interior.
