There’s a new book out, “This Will Not Pass: Trump, Biden, and the Battle for America’s Future.” Written by two New York Times journalists, Jonathan Martin and Alex Burns, the book purports to give the scoop about the 2020 election and Biden’s first year in office. As the Amazon page for the book states:
The shocking, definitive account of the 2020 election and the first year of the Biden presidency by two New York Times reporters, exposing the deep fissures within both parties as the country approaches a political breaking point.
This is the authoritative account of an eighteen-month crisis in American democracy that will be seared into the country’s political memory for decades to come. With stunning, in-the-room detail, New York Times reporters Jonathan Martin and Alexander Burns show how both our political parties confronted a series of national traumas, including the coronavirus pandemic, the January 6 attack on the Capitol, and the political brinksmanship of President Biden’s first year in the White House.
To do so, the book’s description makes the claim that “Martin and Burns break news on most every page, drawing on hundreds of interviews and never-before-seen documents and recordings from the highest levels of government.”
What’s important is that while the book is obviously not pro-Trump, it shockingly seems to have included a number of claims about Kamala Harris that Democrats normally wouldn’t want to make. That’s according to Politico, which obtained a few excerpts of the book
For example, Politico claims that one part of the book exposes Kamala, or at least her allies, as complaining that her portfolio was “impossible.” As Politico describes the excerpt:
Harris allies complained throughout the first year of the administration that she was handed an impossible portfolio. According to the book, KATE BEDINGFIELD, Biden’s comms director, not only grew tired of the criticism that the White House was mismanaging Harris — she blamed the VP.
“In private, Bedingfield had taken to noting that the vice presidency was not the first time in Harris’s political career that she had fallen short of sky-high expectations: Her Senate office had been messy and her presidential campaign had been a fiasco. Perhaps, she suggested, the problem was not the vice president’s staff,” Martin and Burns write.
According to Politico, the book also claims that Kamala and Joe don’t have a particularly close relationship (no surprise given Kamla’s slander of Joe during the first Democrat debate), with the authors reportedly writing that, “their weekly lunches lacked a real depth of personal and political intimacy.”
The book also reports that “Dr.” Jill, questioned why Kamala had to be chosen, with the authors supposedly writing that “Speaking in confidence with a close adviser to her husband’s campaign, the future first lady posed a pointed question. There are millions of people in the United States, she began. Why, she asked, do we have to choose the one who attacked Joe?”
Adding veracity to that claim, at least, is the fact that, as the Daily Wire reports, Jill’s spokesman didn’t deny the reports.
There was also apparently a fuss over a picture of Kamala in sneakers, concerns the White House seemed annoyed by and said was “first world problems.”

So, if the book’s authors are to be believed, there might be a bit more going on at the White House than the left would like to admit: Kamala and Joe don’t seem to like each other and Jill never wanted Kamala around in the first place.
