Matt Gaetz, Super Troll: Florida Congressman Has Epic Takedown Of Oscars

For most of us, we had better things to do with our Sunday night than to sit around and watch a bunch of overpaid, unappreciative, and anti-American Hollywood types sit around and pat themselves on the back. The left and their media are touting the 15.3 million viewers of last night’s Oscars as a triumphant rebound from their disastrous showing of less than 10 million a year ago. But once again, they’re lying to you.

Yesterday’s ratings were still the second-worst in Oscars history, and when we compare that viewership to the 55.25 million who watched the show in 1998, we see a decline of a remarkable 73%. That drop-off isn’t just dismal, it’s catastrophic, and the Oscars as an American institution is on life support. And Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) was there on Twitter today to pile on.

For those who didn’t watch, including yours truly, the most memorable part of the evening was apparently when actor Will Smith slapped comedian Chris Rock across the face. Here’s the video, and note that the loss of audio in this clip is exactly how it was viewed by the audience during the broadcast:

As you can tell by the initial audio, the audience was unsure of what to make of Smith’s slap, reacting as if it was part of some skit. But it wasn’t.

Smith was genuinely pissed off at a joke the comedian had made about his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, as we can see when we read his lips in the aftermath as he shouts at Rock, “Keep my wife’s name out of your f***ing mouth.” That wasn’t an act, it was real, and Matt Gaetz had the best reaction of all, with a simple, ten-word tweet only moments later.

That was it. And that was all Gaetz needed. Twitter perfection.

Gaetz’ tweet highlighted the left’s hypocrisy and double standards. Hollywood is famously leftwing, and various clowns are known to take shots at the ‘Neanderthals’ who attend Trump rallies but ask yourself some questions:

– Has there ever been such an incident at a Trump rally?

– If there had been, do you think the left would have been hyping the violence of right wingers?

– What if Smith had been a conservative, how would the left have reacted?

– Similarly, what if Smith had been a white man slapping a black man? How would that situation have been received?

– And isn’t this an example of toxic masculinity that should be condemned with Will the Slapper being canceled?

According to a statement by the LAPD, Chris Rock decided not to press charges against Smith, but the questions remain. And the disingenuousness of Hollywood has been exposed once again.
