Jen Psaki recently sounded off on Peter Doocy during an appearance on Pod Save America when asked by POLITICO White House Correspondent Eugene Daniels about Doocy.
He asked “Peter Doocy is a stupid son of a bitch, or does he just play one on TV?”, to which Psaki said “He works for a network that provides people with questions that, nothing personal to any individual including Peter Doocy, but might make anyone sound like a stupid son of a bitch.”
Well, former Fox News host Megyn Kelly sounded off on Psaki for that comment during a recent episode of “The Megyn Kelly Show” on Sirius XM, as The Daily Wire reported. Discussing Psaki’s comment, Kelly said, when speaking to Buck Sexton:
“She’s [Psaki] making the rounds, she’s going on Pod [Save] America, the far-left Obama guys have their podcast which is popular with liberals. And while on there she gets asked about Peter Doocy and whether basically he’s a jerk…they ask her basically if he’s some sort of an asshole.”
“And she basically says oh ‘he works for a network that feeds its questions to people in a way that would make anybody sound like a jerk.’ And I’m thinking to myself, ‘number one I’ve worked at Fox News and they actually, unlike NBC news, they don’t feed the anchor the questions. … At Fox News nobody ever wrote a question for me ever.”
“Not in a presidential debate, not on a big night, not on my nightly show, and I guarantee you nobody’s writing Peter Doocy’s questions for him. And she [Psaki] decides to take a shot at him [Doocy]. Because he’s the only one willing to ask her tough questions.”
Sexton then responded, labeling Psaki’s response as being “pathetic.” He then pointed out that Doocy is the only one who asks interesting questions, particularly when it comes to hot-button issues like the border, inflation, and crime, before adding that:
“If we had a real press corps those press conferences would be testy, Megyn. It should be interesting.”
Indeed. But we don’t, we have a gaggle of losers and one bright guy who asks reasonably good questions rather than sycophantic nonsense about Biden’s favorite ice cream flavor. So of course Psaki was mad: he’s the reason she has to think on her feet (or at least attempt to do so) and answer tough questions (or, again, attempt to do so).
Fox News, for its part, released a statement defending Doocy, saying:
“In his role as White House correspondent, Peter Doocy’s job is to elicit truth from power for the American public. His questions are his own, he is a terrific reporter and we are extremely proud of his work.”
Psaki needs to watch out. She made a major mistake in going after Doocy in such a major, open way. Fortunately, there are a brave few willing to call her on it and point out the potential illegality of her remarks.
