In the middle of the Lone Star state of Texas, is the city of Austin. It’s a booming tech community with campuses located around the huge University of Texas, home of the Longhorns.
The college town that has always been known for its bohemian artsy culture, has gone full out San Franciso tenderloin distinct over the past decade.
Just last month, in defiance of Attorney General Ken Paxton, Austin’s school officials dedicated an entire week to promoting LGBT week, actually instructing the kids to not tell their parents about some of the school activities.
“Respect privacy: ‘What we say in this room stays in this room,’” reads one proposed “PRIDE week” lesson plan for Doss Elementary School in Austin Independent School District. The activity is a teacher-led “community circles” conversation with kids about LGBT behaviors and is designed for pre-K through second grade (children as young as 4).
On Thursday, a parent in Austin dressed up as the Easter Bunny and handed out eggs with condoms to children.
It took place at the Gullett Elementary School campus. The unnamed parent handed out the plastic Easter eggs to the school children. Some of those eggs contained candy, but others had the unopened condoms inside, according to the school.
The Austin Independent School District told KTBC that school staff asked the parent to leave the premises. The parent left the school but proceeded to hand out condom-filled eggs from a public sidewalk. The Austin ISD called the incident “an incredibly careless and inappropriate action.”
Gullett Elementary School Principal Tammy Thompson sent a letter to parents stressing that the disturbance was “not a planned event, nor sanctioned by the school.”
The district said it was working with the Austin ISD Police Department on possible repercussions for the parent who handed out condoms to students.
“We are working to review our safety protocols to ensure this does not happen again,” an AISD spokesperson told KXAN. “It was an incredibly careless and inappropriate action of a parent.”
Following is the sent letter to parents from Gullett Elementary School Principal Tammy Thompson:
Good evening, Gullett Elementary School Families,
This afternoon during dismissal, a Gullett parent visited campus dressed as the Easter Bunny and handed out plastic eggs. Some of those eggs contained candy, and some students were also given unopened condoms.
Please know that this was not a planned event, nor sanctioned by the school, and we have spoken with the parent about the inappropriate nature of their activity. We value parent participation and always request that you work with campus staff to best support our students.
If you have any questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to contact me at 512-414-2082.
Thank you,
Principal Tammy Thompson

As someone who lived in Fort Worth and did business in the Austin market, the rapid growth of tech, bringing in tens of thousands of California bay area transplants, has permanently changed the Austin metro area into a mini Silicon Valley.
It is sad to see, but with open borders flooding the state with unvetted foreign nationals from around the world and with the highjacked education systems pouring our Marxists, things might be lost.
