Elon Just Destroyed Bill Gates in the Funniest Tweet Ever

Ladies and gentlemen, this might have been Elon’s greatest tweet of all time, and he’s had quite a few good tweets. Here it is:

Yes, he really posted that, a picture of a gross-looking Bill Gates and Apple’s new pregnant man emoji. And that wasn’t all. He quickly followed it up with a joke about the Twitter censorship team, saying:

And, at least according to those who checked if he had been shadowbanned, his worries about censorship might have been well-founded, as a shadowban checking site supposedly said that he now is:

That, however, has not been verified and there are rumors the website that checks for shadowbanning isn’t working correctly, so it’s possible nothing happened to Elon’s account.

Regardless, the original Elon tweet is absolutely hilarious and was supposedly motivated by an argument Gates and Musk had over Gates maintaining his short position on Tesla, as CNBC reported, saying:

“I heard from multiple people at TED that Gates still had half billion short against Tesla, which is why I asked him, so it’s not exactly top secret,” Musk said in the tweet.

He was responding to a Twitter user’s question on whether a screengrab of a supposed text conversation between the two billionaires was real.

The Tesla chief’s response was: “Yeah, but I didn’t leak it to NYT. They must have got it through friends of friends.”

Here’s that tweet and the texts, in which you can see Musk attacking Gates for his hypocrisy:

Elon also responded to a tweet pointing out that Gates is shorting an electric vehicle company despite constantly prattling on about climate change, simply saying “yeah” in response to a tweet pointing out how hypocritical Gates is in working against the one company that’s made major strides in fighting “climate change”:

Elon also slammed ESG ratings in a response to a tweet pointing out that Gates is long an oil company despite being short Tesla, a company that’s theoretically in line with his climate goals:

Elon is known to hate short-sellers, having previously torn into the hedge funds that wreck companies by shorting their stock and using that to crater their stock price, saying:

Too often, sophisticated hedge funds have used short selling and complex derivatives to take advantage of small investors. They will short a company, conduct a negative publicity campaign to drive the stock price down temporarily and cash out, then do it all over again many times. The term for this, as you may be aware, is ‘short & distort.’”

So, with all that in mind, it makes sense that Elon would post such a savage tweet about Bill Gates, one that might have led to a serious suppression of his reach on Twitter.

Between his obvious fury at Gates for being such a hypocrite and his known dislike of short-sellers, it makes complete sense that he’d want to humiliate Gates in such a funny but cruel way in the public eye.
