It’s a good time to be a conservative who somehow made it through the Stalinist purges of the Dorsey days and is still on Twitter: with Musk’s purchase of the social network finally announced, leftist losers are absolutely losing it, melting down online over his promises to bring free speech back to the platform.
So, those conservative Twitter users, and some more toward the left who have been unhappy with how Musk has run Twitter for a long while, decided to have a day of fun, cheering Elon’s purchase of the company and joking about how much the blue-hairs were about to melt down.
Here are some of those great conservative tweets about what we’ll get to see in the days and months to come as the sale goes through and Elon takes over:
Eric Weinstein, himself no conservative but certainly a defender of free speech and ally of the movement that fights for it, called out the more subtle forms of censorship in his tweet on the subject, asking Elon to look into and release what Twitter was doing to suppress certain thinkers:
I’m excited to see what happens next. Here’s to the future!
But one request for @elonmusk : can you use Twitter Logs to show us how our communications were manipulated? Who was shaddowbanned or targeted by bots? How algorithms limited our reach? Why we were throttled? Etc. 🙏

This tweet by Clay Travis was hilarious in how he described the victory over the left, particularly in how he pointed out that their main tool, a rigged marketplace of ideas, is failing now that Elon’s buying Twitter:
Elon Musk has officially purchased Twitter for $54.20 a share. Absolutely monstrous win for free speech on social media. Feast on the left wing blue check tears as they realize their rigged marketplace of ideas is dying. Glorious.

James Woods had a predictably good tweet, turning the battle into one of capitalism vs. socialism which, if inaccurate, is one that many can rally behind:
I’ve never been a proponent of electric cars, nor do I ever wish to fly into space.
That said, @elonmusk is a hero. He proved that capitalism will crush socialism every time. #BravoElonMusk

Jim Jordan went viral with a simple tweet, saying only:
Free speech is making a comeback.

Crenshaw did much the same a Jordan, firing off a simple but funny tweet:
Cue the meltdowns

And Marsha Blackburn summed up the problem quite well, saying:
Elon Musk buying Twitter terrifies the left because they don’t want their power to censor conservatives threatened.

This hilarious, satirical tweet, however, probably took the trophy as the best of the day, brilliantly pointing out the far-left bent of Twitter and the ridiculousness of the leftist freakout:
I fear Elon Musk could undermine the ideological diversity, equity and inclusion at Twitter which currently maintains a careful balance of 98.7% for one side.

Elon recently purchased, as you will remember, Twitter in a $44 billion dollar deal. paying $54.20 per share to take the company over and take it private. The company’s Board Chairman, writing about that in a press statement, said:
“The Twitter Board conducted a thoughtful and comprehensive process to assess Elon’s proposal with a deliberate focus on value, certainty, and financing. The proposed transaction will deliver a substantial cash premium, and we believe it is the best path forward for Twitter’s stockholders.”
Elon, for his part, spoke both about the need to protect free speech and unlock value in the company in his comment in the statement, saying:
“Free speech is the bedrock of a functioning democracy, and Twitter is the digital town square where matters vital to the future of humanity are debated,” said Mr. Musk. “I also want to make Twitter better than ever by enhancing the product with new features, making the algorithms open source to increase trust, defeating the spam bots, and authenticating all humans. Twitter has tremendous potential – I look forward to working with the company and the community of users to unlock it.”
We’ll see how much the new Twitter actually does to protect free speech and if Elon is able to bend the woke company to his will now that he’s bought it.
But, frankly, if anyone can do it Elon can, so hopefully all the conservative cheering is well-grounded and we won’t be disappointed.
