HILARIOUS: Based Brazilian President Wrecks Climate Hypocrite DiCaprio on Twitter

What’s “democracy”? To the Hollywood elites, apparently, it means getting to interfere in other nations’ elections and try to push the people of that nation one way or another. Foreign interference must only be bad when the Russkies do it by buying a few thousand dollars worth of Facebook ads.

Hollywood star Leonardo DiCaprio, the brilliant actor from many a well-regarded movie who also happens to be a massive climate hypocrite that sails around on a gas-guzzling yacht while prattling and preaching about climate change, apparently thinks so, as he tried wading into the Brazilian presidential election in an attempt to unseat the current conservative president, Jair Bolsonaro.

He did so on Twitter, where he describes himself as an “actor and environmentalist, posting about the Amazon and upcoming election and saying:

Brazil is home to the Amazon and other ecosystems critical to climate change. What happens there matters to us all and youth voting is key in driving change for a healthy planet. For more on voter registration in Brazil before May 4, visit http://olhaobarulhinho.com #tiraotitulohoje

Well, Bolsonaro decided not to keep quiet, but rather to hit back hard. He, responded to the actor’s whining tweet, said:

– Thanks for your support, Leo! It’s really important to have every Brazilian voting in the coming elections. Our people will decide if they want to keep our sovereignty on the Amazon or to be ruled by crooks who serve foreign special interest. Good job in The Revenant! 👍

Boom! Now that’s how you respond to some whining, privileged actor trying to interfere in your nation’s affairs and use his platform against you.

But Bolsonaro didn’t stop there. He went on to both blast DiCaprio for not knowing what he’s talking about and attack those who would suppress free speech in Brazil in a follow up tweet, saying:

– By the way, the picture you posted to talk about the wildfires in the Amazon in 2019 is from 2003. There are people who want to arrest Brazilian citizens who make this kind of mistake here in our country. But I’m against this tyrannical idea. So I forgive you. Hugs from Brazil!

More of that, please. Bolsonaro’s response was nearly perfect, though it would have been great if Bolsonaro had added to the thread and slammed DiCaprio for his hypocrisy in wringing his hands and clutching his pearls about the rain forest while simultaneously sailing around on a massive yacht.

The Mirror, reporting on Leo’s yacht vacation, said:

Despite his stance on [climate change], [DiCaprio] spent some time enjoying the luxuries of the the 315ft, £110 million Vava II superyacht – which produces as much carbon from sailing seven miles as the average car produces in a year – during his latest jaunt abroad.

The Vava II has six desks, with a helipad on the uppermost and costs a staggering £250,000 to fill its fuel tanks.

Perhaps next time Leo goes on vacation he could do so in a more climate-conscious way, as he demands others do.
