Things got dangerous and terrifying in a Texas home when an intruder broke his way into the home where three young children were sleeping.
Luckily, however, it wasn’t just a guardian angel that was watching over them. Their mother was too, and she was locked and loaded, ready to give the intruder lead rather than any satisfaction from theft. That she did, blowing him away before he could harm her children. What a hero!
BREAKING REPORT: Texas mother SHOOTS INTRUDER DEAD after he broke into her home while her three children slept inside, Police say she was WITHIN HER RIGHTS to use deadly force…

KSAT, reporting on the San Antonia robbery gone wrong (for the thug, at least), says that:
A woman fatally shot a man who broke into her Southeast Side home on Thursday night, according to San Antonio police.
The shooting happened at 10 p.m. in the 600 block of Kashmuir Place, not far from Kellis Avenue and South Side Lions Park.
Police said a woman in her 30s was in her house with her three children when she heard a man break into her home. The man entered via the laundry room in the back of the house, police said.
After he entered, the woman grabbed a gun and blasted him full of holes (two shots to the chest), defending her castle and her children from the potentially dangerous intruder.
The man then apparently stumbled out onto the house’s back porch and bled out on the deck furniture, where he was sitting when police arrived. He died on his way to the hospital from the wounds delivered by the heroic mama bear.
Fox News Channel, which also reported on the horrifying incident that ended well thanks to the mother’s bravery and the designer of the handgun she used, added that while the police are investigating the situation they are yet to announce charges and that, quite fortunately, neither the woman nor her three children were harmed during the terrifying break-in.
Texas laws mean that, fortunately, the woman likely won’t face any charges at all. As a San Antonio area news site reported:
The homeowner isn’t facing any charges due to the castle doctrine, which allows the use of force against another person who is: unlawfully and with force entering or attempts to enter your habitation, vehicle, or workplace.
Particularly, there are two provisions of Texas law that are important here. The first is Texas Penal Code § 9.31, which provides that:
A person is justified in using force against another when he reasonably believes the force is immediately necessary to protect himself against the other’s use or attempted use of unlawful force. A “reasonable belief” is one held by an ordinary and prudent person in the same circumstance as the actor.
Then there’s the Castle doctrine itself, which presumes that there was a reasonable belief that harm was imminent when someone:
- unlawfully and with force enters or attempts to enter your habitation, vehicle, or work-place; or
- attempts to remove you, by force, from your habitation, vehicle, or work-place;
- was committing or attempting to commit aggravated kidnapping, murder, sexual assault, aggravated sexual assault, robbery, or aggravated robbery.
Here, the first one was clearly meant, so the presumption is there and the woman should, unless something odds turns out to be the case, not face any charges for the self-defense shooting.
