Republican Congressional Candidate Sounds Like Anti-Semitic Democrat… GOP Needs To Denounce Him [Video]

One advantage the Republican Party has had over Democrats for several years now is moral credibility. When Harvard University and other Ivy League schools confessed to discriminating against applicants based on race and skin color, specifically against white and Asian students, Democrats had no problem with the practice, including President Joe Biden. Meanwhile, Republicans have been understandably vocal in denouncing the policies.

Similarly, when racial bigotry rears its ugly head from Republicans, action is taken. When former Republican Iowa Congressman Steve King made “white supremacist” comments, he was rebuked by a vote of 416-1 in the House of Representatives, with the only ‘nay’ vote coming from a Democrat. King was subsequently stripped of committee assignments, shunned by Republican colleagues, and any funding from the Republican National Committee for his re-election campaign was pulled, resulting in King being voted out of office in the 2020 primary.

But for Democrats, particularly influential leaders like Biden, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, they can’t bear to bring themselves to criticize any of their members for even the most egregious comments, particularly when it comes to their anti-Semitism.

For example, when Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) talked about “a calming feeling” when she thinks about the Holocaust, there wasn’t a prominent Democrat in the country to speak out against the congresswoman, who continues to hold her seat, enjoy widespread support from Democrat leaders, and remains highly influential within her party. Watch:

And Tlaib isn’t the only one, as other Democrats and members of The Squad – most notably Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) – have been equally flippant with blatantly anti-Semitic remarks.

Now the Republican Party has an opportunity to once again show Democrats how it’s done.

In other circumstances, Greg Raths might be considered a solid Republican candidate for California’s 40th Congressional District. He’s a former Marine with a solid education. His military experience includes serving as a liaison to the White House during the Clinton Administration. And he’s already been elected to public office as a member of the city council in Mission Viejo.

So, when he threw his hat into the ring to challenge the current, incumbent Republican congresswoman from the district, Young Kim, one might have considered Raths to be a formidable candidate. But based on recent comments from Rath at a gathering of the Orange County Islamic Foundation, Raths appears to harbor anti-Semitism at levels comparable to either Tlaib or Omar. Watch:

There is no doubt that comments such as these are anti-Semitic:

“That’s the problem. Israeli PAC in Washington, they got money and they control a lot of these politicians. And the other side, the Palestinians, they don’t have the clout. So these politicians go where the money is, unfortunately. The Jewish community is very well organized in the United States and they control a lot of politicians. That’s why the foreign aid is so large going to Israel.

“The Jewish community has never given me one dime, so I’m not beholden to them at all.”

What Raths said promotes negative stereotypes based on race, specifically Jews. It advances the fallacy that Jews wield disproportional influence because of wealth. And equally important, what Raths said is a lie.

America’s long-standing support of Israel is due to the Jewish nation being the only established democracy in the Middle East. In a hyper volatile region with nemeses such as Syria, Hezbollah, Hamas, and Iran, we need Israel. And Israel needs us. What we don’t need is Republicans in Congress acting, speaking, and voting like members of The Squad. What we don’t need is Greg Raths, and the RNC and Republican leaders must speak out against Raths, denounce him, and ensure he never makes it to the halls of Congress.
