Insane: Leftist Senator Claims Gas Prices “Don’t Matter” To Her Because of Electric Vehicles [WATCH]

Can leftists in power in the legislature get even more tone-deaf and insane than the lunatics running the Biden Administration? Apparently they can, as Senator Debbie Stabenow just proved during her monologue during the Senate Finance Committee hearing on Brandon’s 2023 budget on Tuesday.

During that hearing, Senator Stabenow proved herself one of the most tone-deaf lefties of all by saying that gas prices don’t matter to her because she drives an electric vehicle.

Yes, she really said that. Watch her here:

As you can hear in the clip that Greg Price provided, Stabenow, speaking on gas prices, said:

“I drove it [her electric vehicle] from Michigan to here this last weekend and went by every single gas station and it didn’t matter how high it was.”

She then added that she can’t wait for Americans to “move to vehicles that aren’t going to be dependent on the whims of the oil companies.”

Unfortunately for Americans, electric vehicles like Stabenow is championing are quite pricey, something that Greg Price pointed out in a comment on the video he shared, using the example of her home state of Michigan to show the cost of an electric vehicle to the average American, saying:

Average cost of an electric car: $56,000

Median household income in Michigan: $59,234

Because of that huge cost, the cost of gas matters to the average American even if it doesn’t matter to out of touch leftists like Senator Stabenow. Particularly, it matters because of how high it has gotten under Brandon, with Breitbart pointing out that it has hit yet another high, saying:

The Michigan Senator’s remarks came on the same day gas prices hit a record high for the tenth consecutive day. The average price of one gallon of gas is $4.91. However, Michigan’s average is more than 20 cents higher than the national average, at $5.17 per gallon, according to AAA.

Because of that, Stabenow was ripped for her comments on Twitter, with one particularly astute commenter saying “Let them buy Teslas!” in reference to the probably apocryphal Marie Antionette “let them eat cake” quote, which she supposedly said when told that her starving subjects couldn’t afford bread.

Translation: it’s too bad you Poors can’t afford gas, let alone an electric car, like me.
