As the United States struggles with skyrocketing inflation, gasoline prices, housing/rents, etc., the Biden administration has stretched itself by sending a massive amount of aid to [redacted], while there is a baby formula shortage at home, overwhelming its low-skilled staff.
China, on the other hand, has been very focused, growing exponentially via rapidly expanding its industrial base, and by stealing intellectual property.
The Red Dragon has now positioned itself, as a world power challenging the United States for supremacy.
Taiwan which has been a leader in chip manufacturing has a unique relationship and understanding with China and United States.
Because of President Jimmy Carter, the U.S. government has not formally recognized Taiwan as a country, nor maintained any military pacts with Taipei.
The One China policy, “One China”, is a phrase interpreted differently by the three nations.
- In the United States, the policy does not recognize Taiwan as a sovereign state and maintains diplomatic relations with Communist China.
- China used the term “One China principle” to mean that Taiwan is a province of China, which is a far broader interpretation than America’s.
- Taiwan uses the term “One China” to mean that it, the Republic of China, is the only legitimate Chinese state in the world, and the communist People’s Republic in Beijing is a political aberration.
On Sunday, Chinese Defense Minister General Wei Fenghe appeared to challenge America over Taiwan. During his remarks at a global security conference in Singapore, the CCP military leader asserted that the Communist Party would “fight to the very end” to annex Taiwan.
Even though Taiwan is a sovereign democratic island nation off the coast of China, that has never been governed by Beijing and has no official government ties to Communist China, China stakes a claim to it anyway. The CCP has insisted for decades that Taiwan is a “province” of China and has forced countries that want diplomatic ties with China not to recognize Taiwan as a state – including the United States.
Chinese officials have been alarmed about comments coming out of the Biden administration.
In a recent Biden blunder, President Joe Biden again claimed that a “commitment” exists on Washington’s part to intervene against China in any potential invasion.
When asked if he would be willing to get involved militarily to defend Taiwan, Biden replied, “Yes. That’s the commitment we made,” citing the Taiwan Act.
The White House issued a statement reassuring the world once again that Biden’s remarks did not create a new military commitment for America. “As the President said, our policy has not changed. He reiterated our One China policy and our commitment to peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait.”
“Those who pursue ‘Taiwan independence’ in an attempt to split China will definitely come to no good end, and foreign interference is doomed to failure,” he warned, echoing similar language regularly published in Chinese state propaganda outlets. “Let me make this clear: If anyone dares to secede Taiwan from China, we will not hesitate to fight, we will fight at all costs and we will fight to the very end. This is the only choice for China.”
In 2019, dictator Xi Jinping proclaimed that anyone who recognized Taiwan accurately as a country would have their “bones ground to powder”
With their ability to raise an army of 200M soldiers, China will most likely be one of the biggest threats to world peace for generations to come.
For Bible readers, China is probably one of the Kings of the East that will be a dominant player in the final battle of Armageddon.
