Ridiculous: CNN Accuses Pro-Life People of Being Threatening for Doing This

Apparently, standing around and listening to what a media personality has to say when she’s being filmed live is “threatening” now.

At least, that’s what CNN reporter Nadia Romero said when filming in Jackson, Mississippi. During the filmed segment, pro-life protesters simply stood nearby with their posters, something she claimed was “threatening” and “confrontational”.

Ah, yes, because it’s the Christians that don’t want babies to be murdered are the threatening ones, not the people who tried to assassinate Justice Kavanaugh, protested outside of his house for weeks, had to be cleared with tear gas from outside the Arizona capital, or demanded a violence-filled night of rage following the Dobbs decision.

Police then came and got involved in dealing with the dispute between the pro-life protesters, who were simply standing around, and Romero. She, speaking on that while the cops dealt with the protesters, said:

We have asked them to back up and give us some space, but they have decided to stand and hover over us, and that’s why the police are out here. There’s another police incident that’s happening because one of the men backed up his truck, hitting one of the volunteers of the clinic here.

She also described them as “threatening,” saying:

It has not been a good morning here. It has been confrontational. It has been very threatening.

So apparently standing around near a CNN broadcast is “confrontation”, “threatening”, and deserving of a police presence. Funny how the police in that situation weren’t berated for dealing with “peaceful protesters” that weren’t even “fiery” or otherwise “mostly peaceful”.

The CNN segment that sparked the controversy was regarding the sole remaining abortion clinic in Mississippi, the Jackson Women’s Health Organization. The owner of the clinic, Diane Derzis, said:

We are continuing to provide services, and women like me, and there are many throughout this country, will be doing the same thing. And I tell you today we’re not laying down. We’re not giving up.”

Like CNN’s Romero, Derzis also described the peaceful protesters in a ridiculous way, saying:

So that means that we will be open for the next 10 days and we’ll be seeing patients for the next 10 days. Even if they have to do what they’ve done so often and that’s come through this kind of terrorism.

Yes, apparently people standing around with posters in support of the lives of the unborn are engaging in “terrorism”.

Derzis also pledged to help Mississippi women abort babies by traveling to other states, saying:

It’s funding all over the country. So we know how to put her in touch with those individuals and figure out which is the closest clinic you know, there’ll be women who are able to afford a plane ticket and if they can hop on a plane and get into Las Cruces, or Baltimore, Maryland or wherever, Chicago, Illinois, then that wherever is the easiest to get her in because her needs have to come first.”
