Lol: Far-Left CNN Political Hack Brian Stelter’s June Ratings NOSEDIVE Into Oblivion

When discussing the “historic” levels of events or milestones, it’s often helpful to put a topic or timeframe into perspective. Therefore, consider these aspects from the period of June 1993. President Bill Clinton and his sidekick First Lady Hillary were still in their first term in office. Justin Bieber’s mother had presumably just become pregnant with the future pop star, who wouldn’t be born until the following March. And tennis stars Steffi Graf and Pete Sampras were preparing to conquer their competition at the upcoming fortnight at Wimbledon.

Indeed, June 1993 was a very long time ago. It was also the last time weekend ratings for CNN’s Saturday programming were as low as they were this year, and keep in mind that neither MSNBC nor Fox News were even in existence at that time. Also, note that those ratings include the viewership for CNN’s incomparable Brian Stelter… couldn’t happen to a more deserving guy.

According to Mediaite:

“CNN’s weekend ratings for the month were the lowest of the year in both terms of demo and total viewers and coincided with a historic low for the network on Saturday the 18th – which saw the network dip to 57,000 total demo viewers. That Saturday was the lowest-rated since 1993, which pre-dated CNN’s top competitors Fox News and MSNBC.”

What’s equally fascinating – and almost as enjoyable – is the fact that as bad as CNN’s ratings were for that Saturday in June, MSNBC’s were even worse:

“CNN still beat MSNBC on the 18th however, as the latter network only brought in 55,000 total viewers in the demo. Alex Witt Reports was the lowest rated show for the day in the demo bringing in only 43,000 viewers.

CNN programming too saw some lows as Reliable Sources notched its lowest-rated month since June of 2001, bringing in 79,000 demo viewers and 585,000 average total viewers.”

When we factor in what is essentially a CNN monopoly on the public consumption televisions at airports and in hotel lobbies – and yes, that viewership is included in those ratings – the conclusions we can draw become clear. Americans are tuning out and turning off CNN, and while explanations must be based at least somewhat on conjecture, we can make some reasonably safe assumptions.

First and foremost, CNN’s credibility has been destroyed. Both MSNBC and Fox News are upfront with how they present talking heads such as Lawrence O’Donnell and Tucker Carlson. They are not journalists, they are commentators. There is separation. But for CNN, they laughably contend that personalities such as Don Lemon, Anderson Cooper, and Brian “Tater” Stelter are unbiased. They’re journalists, don’t you know.

When we consider CNN’s gaslighting with their well-documented recent woes, including the firings of Chris Cuomo and Jeff Zucker, the arrest of alleged pedophile producer John Griffin, and their utter insistence on getting stories wrong – such as the Russia Hoax, and their ‘Andrew Cuomo is a great governor’ narrative – their plummeting ratings should come as no surprise.

Additionally, when we weigh the inevitable reaction of their new parent company, Discovery, we can only imagine the number of pink slips being written up at this very moment.

Fortunately for CNN, the solution is pretty simple, though whether they see it or not is yet to be seen. A move to the center by CNN wouldn’t only be a windfall for the once-dominant network, it would be terrific for America. We need credible, unbiased, and accurate sources of news.

That’s not to say new CNN CEO Chris Licht needs to try and woo Laura Ingraham away from Fox News or to bring in a bunch of former Trump officials as their new “experts.”

All CNN would need to do is to regain some levels of journalistic integrity. Report the news as it is, not as how you wished it to be. If you’re going to have opinion-based programming, call it out for what it is. Don’t try to blow smoke up our rectums. And have some balance. The echo chamber you’ve created isn’t only hurting your network financially, it’s also wreaking havoc on the Democratic Party you adore so much. You’re not doing Democrats any favors by having clowns like Stelter and Alisyn Camerota nodding their heads and telling them how great they are while the country collapses.
