Borders Wide Open, but Hero Officers Put the Smack Down on Meth

The war on drugs never ends, right? It seems we are losing, due to a number of factors. Cartels keep getting more creative, technology keeps advancing, and the Biden administration has basically opened the borders, allowing a flood of fentanyl and other illicit drugs into our country.

So many families have been devastated by meth, heroine, fentanyl, and other drugs smuggled though our wide-open southern border. It’s truly sad, and a problem the Biden administration simply doesn’t care about.

Thankfully we have hero agents monitoring the border as best they can, considering the lack of support from Washington.

It’s a drop in the bucket, but recently hero agents in California made a huge dent in the drug trade. What’s the story? Check this out from Breitbart:

During the afternoon of July 7, federal officials observed a box truck enter the U.S. through the Otay Mesa Commercial Port of Entry, according to a statement from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of California. Law enforcement agencies surveilled the truck to its destination in National City, California. The agents watched as the alleged drug smugglers unloaded the truck into a Dodge van.

An inspection of the boxes revealed more than 5,000 pounds of drugs that later tested positive for methamphetamine.

Wow! Kids, that is a lot of drugs! As we have said many times, drugs are bad. Kudos to these heroes for being alert and aware and tracking this van.

In my opinion, any panel van crossing the border should be checked. Who drives a panel van unless you are doing something illicit or illegal? Just saying.

DEA Special Agent in Charge Shelly S. Howe stated, “This monumental seizure represents another win against drug cartels that fuel addiction in the United States. Because of our great partnerships with other law enforcement agencies, we will continue to disrupt the cartels’ flow of drugs into our cities.”

San Diego County Sheriff Anthony C. Ray added, “I am grateful for the hard work, vigilance, and steadfast dedication of our Sheriff’s Detectives, as well as our local, state, and federal partners. Our partnership and collaboration allow us to share information that is absolutely critical in keeping drugs from entering our streets and holding drug traffickers accountable.”

This is a big, temporary win in the war on drugs coming from Mexico. Folks, it’s a war we are losing, but we have to keep fighting. The Biden administration isn’t helping. The lack of security at our southern border, coupled with this administration’s constant villainizing of our brave border agents has led to an environment where smugglers are gaining an upper hand.

The four men from Mexico now face charges of Conspiracy to Distribute Methamphetamine. If convicted, each could face a prison term of ten years to life and a fine of up to $10 million.

Folks let’s be clear here. This can’t be a question. There can’t be any leeway. These men HAVE to be sentenced to life. Forget ten years, forget the fines. Life in prison MUST be the offense for smuggling this much poison into our country.

A clear, concise message must be sent to the smugglers and cartels. Bring this into our country, you will be caught, and you will never be free again. Until we send this clear of a message, the flow of drugs will continue unabated, and the work of these brave heroes will be in vain.
