Christian producer Andy Erwin is voicing his encouragement for entertainer Chris Pratt who has been mocked and berated various amounts of times throughout the course of recent years for his faith in Jesus Christ.
Some, who say they are Christians, have gone after the Jurassic World Dominion star because of his faith and morals. One example where people gave him a hard time was when he shared how much he cherishes his family and loved ones and spoke about the church he attends.
Now, in a new Instagram post, Erwin commended Pratt for being open about his convictions during a June interview with Men’s Health.
“Great interview with @prattprattpratt in the new Men’s Health. Really admire how this guy represents truth in love. Uses his platform to point people to a very real God, not religion,” he wrote.
This is so amazing, and very good on Pratt when you consider what the Bible has to say about hiding or denying Christ. If we look to Matthew 10:33 we can see a pretty scary consequence if we hide Christ.
“But whosoever shall deny Me before men, him will I also deny before My Father who is in Heaven.”
Those are some bold words I never want to hear from my Father that is in heaven, and I’m sure Pratt knows about this and feels the same.
Sadly, most stars who say they are Christian are only referring to going to church from time to time and speaking of religion, but they have no relation with God. They will deny God in front of their fans to prevent the loss of their big stardom. So, when a person of fame is true to their faith, and even more important, true to God – it’s great to see.
During the interview, Pratt brought up that there is a contrast between everyday coordinated religion and having a real relationship with God.
“I didn’t know that I would kind of become the face of religion when really I’m not a religious person. I think there’s a distinction between being religious – adhering to the customs created by man, oftentimes appropriating the awe reserved for who I believe is a very real God – and using it to control people, to take money from people, to abuse children, to steal land, to justify hatred. Whatever it is. The evil that’s in the heart of every single man has glommed on to the back of religion and come along for the ride,” he said.
Wise words from a fellow Christian. This might be one star I wouldn’t mind meeting.
While talking with Men’s Health, Pratt concluded that a portion of the anti-religious enmity he’s been forced to deal with began after a 2018 speech at the MTV Movie and TV Awards. During his speech, he transparently discussed God and urged youngsters to look to Christ for knowledge and wisdom.
“God is real. God loves you, God wants the best for you,” Pratt said while accepting the Generation Award. “Believe that…I do.”
Erwin not missing a beat encouraged Pratt not to fall back or yield to the cynicism projected towards him and that he would continue to support the God-fearing entertainer.
“Keep standing for Jesus, Pratt. Behind you 100%.”
The pair are most popular for coordinating some faith-based films such as I Can Only Imagine, American Underdog: The Kurt Warner Story, and I Still Believe. May God continue to protect these two and bless them with His favor and blessings.
