The end result of the equity push was never about fairness and justice. This has been obvious from the beginning, but too many white people have been inculcated to feel bad about history’s universal practice of slavery (and certainly not its abolition in the white, Judeo-Christian West).
The goal, purpose, and end result of all things related to equity is the usurpation of power and the redistribution (see: confiscation) of wealth. It has never been about true equality or reimagining systems; it has only been about stealing from those with power and selfishly desiring the exact same system, but with a different entity on top.
Minneapolis is now front and center to the latest insanity with supposed equity in mind. Minneapolis, like pretty much every other large, urban, and black school district, struggles with two related things: Its students come from underwhelming home and social environments and as a result of how students manifest their cultural upbringing few capable adults want to work there. They can make more money and work with far less challenging students in the suburbs.
When drawing from an unimpressive talentpool, then, there are inevitably layoffs, because deluded school leaders always think the perfect solution is in the next round of hiring. But this annual pattern of hiring and firing comes at a cost: Some of the released educators come from historically underserved communities. It isn’t their fault they are unable to work; they grew up with racism! So, rather than seek to recruit, train, hire, and expel students to make the work environment more desirable, Minneapolis went in the other direction.
They doubled down on the systemic racism angle and said all educators of color will be saved at the expense of white educators despite better seniority and performance.
Twin Cities-based Alpha News covered this disgusting new angle:
“One of the proposals dealt with “educators of color protections.” The agreement states that if a non-white teacher is subject to excess, MPS must excess a white teacher with the “next least” seniority.
“Starting with the Spring 2023 Budget Tie-Out Cycle, if excessing a teacher who is a member of a population underrepresented among licensed teachers in the site, the District shall excess the next least senior teacher, who is not a member of an underrepresented population,” the agreement reads.
The agreement adds that non-white teachers, as well as those working in various programs, “may be exempted from district-wide layoff[s] outside seniority order.” The agreement also prioritizes the reinstatement of teachers from “underrepresented populations” over white teachers.”
Far be it from me that this is illegal and immoral on its face. We only need to imagine if a contract included language to fire negroes first.
Can. You. Imagine. The. Outrage.
There is then the contradiction that releasing better teachers will somehow serve students better. These idiots want it both ways. They want good teachers and they want teachers of color, which isn’t mutually exclusive obviously, but the wording in this agreement pretty much spells that out. It continues the scam that people need to see themselves in others in order to be successful.
I hope there are massive lawsuits when that first release takes place. And I hope places like Minneapolis continue to burn in their own misery. I’d ask why the white teachers don’t strike or withhold their dues over this, but I am guessing the kind of white person that works in Minneapolis is self-loathing to the point they think they deserve to be let go first.
