Fox News seemed like it signed its own death warrant when it called Arizona for Biden so early on election night but, thanks largely to Tucker Carlson’s consistently right-wing takes on issues and willingness to call it as he sees it regardless of what the RINOs say, has recovered since then.
In fact, though its leftist competition has struggled mightily since Trump has left office, Fox News has managed to do quite well, with both Tucker Carlson’s program and “The Five” consistently topping the cable ratings charts and even bringing in huge numbers of the younger demographics that advertisers love.
But it looks like the RINOs at Fox News might have shot themselves in the foot again, this time by trying to present the idea that Americans are tired of Trump at a time when his popularity is higher than at any time since the 2020 election thanks largely to the massive Democrat misstep that was the FBI raid on Mar-a-Lago and the indignation and recognition of “what time it is” spawned by that Stasi-like raid.
Specifically, it’s Laura Ingraham that might have shot her network, or at least her show in the foot, pushing the idea that Americans are tired of Trump and ready to shoo him out of the limelight and replace him with someone else.
She said as much during an appearance on “The Truth with Lisa Boothe” podcast, saying:
“People conflate Trump with people’s overall sense of happiness in the country. Donald Trump’s been a friend of mine for 25 years, and I’m always very open about this on my show. But, you know we’ll see whether that’s what the country wants.
“The country, I think, is so exhausted. They’re exhausted by the battle, the constant battle, that they may believe that, well, maybe it’s time to turn the page if we can get someone who has all Trump’s policies, who’s not Trump.”
Newsmax’s Eric Bolling, commenting on that quote of Ingraham’s, said “Fox News’ Laura Ingraham seems to have thrown in the proverbial Trump towel” then, after playing the clip of her making the above comment about Trump, said:
“No, Laura, respectfully, I beg to differ. The Democrats — Laura, a friend of mine, solid, solid Trump supporter, even spoke at the national convention for Trump, what do you mean no Trump? What’s wrong with you? The Democrats are hoping to divide and conquer us, but they’re doing the opposite.”
Whatever her intent in making it, Ingraham seems largely wrong in her depiction of the public mood. Though some Republicans are certainly tired of Trump, mainly the country club Republicans that are tired of defending him when bickering with their RINO friends, he’s still far and away the top GOP contender, a position only made stronger by the recent FBI raid.
The left wants us to be tired of Trump and throw in the towel, replacing him with someone less dangerous to their grift and horrible policies. We can’t follow Ingraham’s example and do so, but rather need to keep fighting for Trump when the night seems darkest.
