I have such fond memories of “Little Golden Books”. I loved them when I was a little kid, and I loved reading them to my kids when they were little.
“The Little Engine that Could”, “The Poky Little Puppy”, “Doctor Dan the Bandage Man”, such iconic, wholesome titles.
Reading to our kids used to NOT be a minefield of subversive themes and gross indoctrination. Sadly, it’s 2022 and you have to read everything to yourself first, lest you expose your kids unwittingly to leftist indoctrination.
Now there are Little Golden books on Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, the racist Beyonce’ (don’t @ me, because she is), and the latest page turner, or burner as the case may be, “Dr Fauci: A Little Golden Books Biography”. Neat!
I feel like I need a shower after just writing that. Anyway, let’s check the Washington Free Beacon for the nauseating details:
Dr. Anthony Fauci, a career bureaucrat who rose to national prominence during the COVID-19 pandemic, is merely the latest liberal icon to be featured in a Little Golden Book. The children’s series dates back to 1942.
Recent subjects include Ruth Bader Ginsburg (2020), Kamala Harris (2021), Betty White (2021), Sonia Sotomayor (2022), and Beyoncé (due out in 2023). Other titles are dedicated to more conventional religious figures such as God, Jesus, and Barack Obama.

Let me just say it, this is gross.
You have Tony Fauci, perhaps the worst government bureaucrat even known to man being celebrated in a children’s book. Are we trying to scare our kids straight? I can’t see any other reason to celebrate a huckster like Fauci.
What kind of lunatic would subject a child to the details of Fauci’s conventional childhood in postwar Brooklyn, or his crippling work addiction? “He worked fourteen hours a day, as well as on weekends,” the author writes of Fauci. “His family waited until he got home at nine p.m. to eat dinner together. After his daughters went to sleep, Tony worked more.” It would take a special kind of psychopath to be able to hold a two-year-old child in one’s lap and read to them about AIDS, SARS, swine flu, Ebola, and COVID-19.
To expound further, what kind of failure of a parent would fill their kids head with this nonsense? As parents, we should be warning our kids about people like Tony Fauci, not celebrating them.
This is a man responsible for hundreds of thousands of deaths. This is a man that funded the lab that Covid likely escaped from. This is a man that has greenlit and funded horrible experiments on puppies. This is the man that incorrectly claimed AIDS could be transmitted through the air.
Tony Fauci has spent his entire career cashing government checks and being WRONG. So, let’s write a kids book about him to make sure my toddler has nightmares! Good job, guys!
Fauci’s so-called leadership during the pandemic enabled a cult of hysterical doomsayers whose greatest legacy will be the generation of children who suffered greatly from having their educations put on hold for the better part of two years.
While the past several years may have irreparably damaged the American public’s confidence in the scientific establishment, Fauci’s confidence in his own greatness and capacity for self-aggrandizement has not wavered.
There is no amount of creative liberty or sugarcoating that can change the truth here. Anthony Fauci is the worst of what our government has to offer. The highest paid person in government, consistently wrong, and damaged an entire generation of kids with useless, ineffective lockdowns and mandates.
Fauci deserves to slink away into history; instead, until he is investigated and revealed for the shyster he is, we have to tolerate his deification by the liberal media and woke left. Just gross.
I still support “Little Golden Books”, but I will be more judicious with the titles I read my grandkids, should I ever have any.
I’ll probably start with “A Little Golden Book: Willie Nelson”. I can definitely get behind that!
