John Lennon Was Reportedly A Closet Republican And Fan Of Reagan

John Lennon was one of the biggest figureheads of the “peace no war” movement but it might surprise you that by the end of his life, the former Beatles star was a closet Republican. According to one of John Lennon’s former personal assistants, by the time John passed away, he had become a conservative who was embarrassed by his rebellious past.

According to Fred Seaman, the former member of the Beatles was a supporter of Ronald Reagan, who went on to become the president of the United States under the Republican Party in 1981 and formed a strong political alliance with the first woman prime minister of the UK Margaret Thatcher.

The Daily Mail did some more digging and came up with these details:

John, basically, made it very clear that if he were an American he would vote for Reagan because he was really sour on [Democrat] Jimmy Carter,’ he says in a documentary film. Seaman worked for Lennon during the year leading up to the star’s death in December 1980 aged 40.

He tells Beatles Stories filmmaker Seth Swirsky that in his final months Lennon was not the left-wing militant worshipped by many of his fans. ‘He was a very different person back in 1979 and 80 than he’d been when he wrote Imagine,’ he says.

‘He’d met Reagan back, I think, in the 70s at some sporting event. ‘Reagan was the guy who had ordered the National Guard, I believe, to go after the young [peace] demonstrators in Berkeley, so I think that John maybe forgot about that. ‘He did express support for Reagan, which shocked me.’

Lennon was a big target of the FBI and the Feds continued to keep him under surveillance because of his anti-war lyrics, which had made him unpopular with the Republican government that Richard Nixon had previously led. Being he was a native of the UK, the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency made several fruitless attempts to deport him.

It was well knowledge that Lennon was a radical who supported issues associated with the left. After being married in 1969, he and his wife Yoko participated in a series of “Bed-Ins for Peace.” He supported the Irish Republican Army (IRA), took the cause of Glaswegian shipyard workers, and penned the anti-Vietnam war hymn “Give Peace a Chance.” Another song with a political message that achieved widespread popularity was “Working Class Hero.”

Leftists however want Lennon all to themselves and claim that Fred Seaman’s claims are false and that his past history is a telling sign he’s not telling the truth. Previously Seaman was forced to apologize to Lennon’s widow after he stole photos and letters of Lennon. One thing is for sure if Lennon was still alive it would be interesting what he would have to say about lockdowns and forced vaccinations. Would he be outspoken against the machine or would he be like McArtney and promote the elitist’s agenda?
