Ron DeSantis has taken a page out of Texas Governor Greg Abbott’s playbook: sending your state’s illegal immigrants to progressive, liberal cities.
On Wednesday, video footage obtained by Fox News showed two planes full of illegal immigrants landing at Martha’s Vineyard.
“Yes, Florida can confirm the two planes with illegal immigrants that arrived in Martha’s Vineyard today were part of the state’s relocation program to transport illegal immigrants to sanctuary destinations,” the governor’s communications director, Taryn Fenske, said.
This is great! It is not the responsibility of southern red states to bear the burden of subsidizing illegal immigrants.
Since all of these progressive cities have been raving about their “sanctuary cities”, we should ship all the illegal border crossers to their cities for them to deal with.
What’s even better about DeSantis’ plan is that Martha’s Vineyard is known to be a playground for the liberal elite such as the Obama’s, the Clinton’s, and countless woke celebrities.
Let’s see how they like it when it’s in their backyard.
Fenske continued, “States like Massachusetts, New York and California will better facilitate the care of these individuals who they have invited into our country by incentivizing illegal immigration through their designation as ‘sanctuary states’ and support for the Biden administration’s open border policies.”
Recently, Texas Governor Greg Abbott started doing the same with his state’s illegal alien population.
Abbott has sent thousands of immigrants by busload to the liberal cities of Washington, D.C., New York and Chicago.
In New York City, Mayor Eric Adams was outraged at the actions of Greg Abbott for sending nearly 4,000 illegals to The Big Apple, called his actions “horrific”.
Similarly, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser declared a state of emergency when nearly 10,000 illegal aliens showed up on her doorstep from Texas.
Bowser said,“This is what we know. The crisis at the border is not lessening. It’s getting worse.”
Oh so liberals finally admit that Biden’s open border policies are a problem when the immigration happens are in their cities, not just in predominantly red states. Funny how that works.
Furthermore, Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot initially welcomed the busloads of illegal immigrants from Texas only to reverse course and redirect them from the city of Chicago to suburbs outside the city, giving those localities little prior notice.
This comes as Vice President Kamala Harris, who has refused to acknowledge the border crisis or even visit the border for the majority of her time in the White House, declared it “secure” during a recent interview.
Even fake news NBC journalist Chuck Todd pushed back on her statement asking, “We’re going to have 2 million people cross this border for the first time ever. You’re confident this border’s secure?”
Anyone with common sense knows our border is not secure.
We have had record high illegal border crossings ever since Biden took office and it is showing no sign of slowing down.
It’s not surprising that when you pursue open border policies it incentivizes illegal immigration.
Maybe that’s what they want so long as it stays in red states.
Regardless, we need Trump’s border wall.
