If you own a 3D printer and live in a liberal state embarking on one of those “gun buyback” programs, you may be set for a massive business opportunity with which you could make tens of thousands of dollars.
Such is what we just saw in the horrible, far-left state of New York, where far-left Attorney General Letitia James is in charge and a gun buyback program is active. There, a genius young adult used his cheap 3D printer to earn a whopping $21,000 in gift cards paid for by New York taxpayers.
How so? By figuring out that he could print guns with his printer quite cheaply and then take them to the gun buyback, where he’d receive a gift card and make a hefty profit.
Predictably, AG Letitia James was quite upset with his gaming New York’s gun buyback system, with a spokesperson from her office speaking out and showing that discontent.
“It’s shameful that this individual exploited a program that has successfully taken thousands of guns off the streets to protect our communities from gun violence,” said the spokesperson from the New York Attorney General’s office.
“We have partnered with local police throughout the state to recover more than 3,500 guns, and one individual’s greedy behavior won’t tarnish our work to promote public safety”, they continued. “We have adjusted our policies to ensure that no one can exploit this program again for personal gain.”
So the idiots got outsmarted and had to change the rules to stop bleeding money. After they wasted tens of thousands on bits of plastic a genius kid brought in. LOL.
The guy who came up with the genius idea, a young audlt who goes by “Kem”, the gun buyback events “don’t actually reduce crime whatsoever.” So he’s smart, or at least sharper than the NY AG.
Speaking out about how he made thousands rigging the system, Kem said “I 3D-printed a bunch of lower receivers and frames for different kinds of firearms.”
He then drove 6 hours to reach the gun buyback station in Utica, New York, where he had this exchange with the guy running the buyback:
“And he sees the tote and says, ‘how many firearms do you have?’ And I said ‘110’”.
Kem then had to negotiate a price for all the newly printed lower receivers, ending up with thousands of dollars. In his words:
“And it ended with the guy and a lady from the budget office finally coming around with the 42 gift cards and counting them in front of me. $21,000 in $500 gift cards.”
A good price for a day’s drive and a bit of plastic.
Commenting on what was (not) achieved by paying him thousands for some freshly printed plastic, Kem said:
“I’m sure handing over $21,000 in gift cards to some punk kid after getting a bunch of plastic junk was a rousing success. Gun buybacks are a fantastic way of showing, number one, that your policies don’t work, and, number 2, you’re creating perverse demand. You’re causing people to show up to these events and they don’t actually reduce crime whatsoever.”
