Candace Cameron Wants to Put Christian Back Into Christmas Movies

Candace Cameron Bure is in the holiday spirit, and the actress wants to bring Christianity back into the Christmas movies she stars in.

The “Fuller House” star told the Wall Street Journal about the new network she joined earlier this year: “I think Great American Family will keep traditional marriage at the core.”

In April, Bure left the Hallmark Channel. She had worked for the popular network for more than a decade, starring in 10 holiday movies and 30 films overall for Hallmark’s Crown Media.

She told the outlet, “My heart wants to tell stories that have more meaning, purpose, and depth behind them. I knew that the people behind Great American Family were Christians that love the Lord and wanted to promote faith programming and good family entertainment.”

In an earlier statement, Bure talked about how her own beliefs match up with those of Great American Family.

I’m very excited to develop heartwarming family and faith-filled programming and make the kind of stories my family and I love to watch,” she stated.

I’m always looking for ways to encourage people to live their lives with meaning. I am constantly looking for ways that I can inspire people to live life with purpose.”

Bure didn’t talk about why she was leaving the Hallmark Channel, but she did say, “It basically is a completely different network than when I started because of the change of leadership.”

Former CEO of the Hallmark Channel Bill Abbott is now CEO of Great American Family.
