Court documents show that an Alabama high school teacher and coach who quit after being arrested for having sex with a student has since married the student and asked the court to let him see her again.
Thomas Blake Tucker, who is 25 years old, asked a judge to change the terms of his bond so that he and his wife can live together. He sent a copy of the marriage license with his request.
Tucker worked as a teacher and coach at East Limestone High School in north Alabama. In September, he was charged with having sex with a student younger than 19. A judge let him go free on a $30,000 bond as long as he didn’t have any contact with the former student.
The defense request said that despite the restriction, the couple got a marriage license and got married on November 8. It also said that Tucker is still following the rule.
A hearing is scheduled for Dec. 6 to talk about the request.
You can’t make this stuff up. Clearly, he doesn’t care that what he did was against the law if he up and married her while out on bond! I have a legitimate question: how in world do you adhere to the no-contact rule and still get married? Inquiring minds…or at least mine, would like to know.
