As we’ve reported before here at The Blue State Conservative, WNBA star Brittney Griner clearly hates her country. She refuses to stand for our National Anthem, and is thoroughly pissed off about the imaginary ‘systemic racism’ she believes plagues our country. We’ve speculated whether she might be singing a different tune now that she’s spent over four months behind bars in a Russian prison, but that shift in opinion remains to be seen.
But one thing we can be virtually certain of is this: Even though she may hate her country, despite being paid millions of dollars to play a kids’ game, if she had to choose which political party is in power, Ms. Griner would certainly opt for Democrats.
The Democratic Party is the party of wokeness and would fly the rainbow flag over government buildings instead of the Stars and Stripes all year round if they could get away with it, so as a gay wokester, Griner undoubtedly adores that mindset. Our Democratic president picked his Vice-Presidential running mate, Kamala Harris, specifically because of her alleged gender and skin color. So, as a leftist black woman, Griner must have been on cloud nine with the Biden-Harris ticket.
Indeed, the Democrats have everything Brittney Griner could possibly want in a political party, but there’s just one problem. Governments are inherently incompetent, particularly when they’re run but leftist Democrats.
According to the Associated Press:
“WNBA star Brittney Griner tried to call her wife nearly a dozen times through the American embassy in Russia on the couple’s fourth anniversary Saturday, but they never connected since the phone line at the embassy was not staffed, Cherelle Griner said Monday.”
Apparently, according to the AP, the Griners have not spoken in the four months since Brittney was arrested. Additionally, Cherelle assumed that Brittney simply neglected to try and call and didn’t learn the truth until yesterday when she spoke with Brittney’s lawyers. The whole episode was a comedy of errors and typical of federal government ineptitude. As a result, Cherelle is reportedly fed up, having stated:
“I find it unacceptable and I have zero trust in our government right now. If I can’t trust you to catch a Saturday call outside of business hours, how can I trust you to actually be negotiating on my wife’s behalf to come home? Because that’s a much bigger ask than to catch a Saturday call.”
Good point, Cherelle, and you have good reason to be angry, but a few questions for you. You’re right to be disappointed with our government, but what is your trust level in the Russian government? Now that you’ve had a front-row seat, do you think they’re any more competent or accommodating? Or how about other governments around the world, which as we have reported would have put your wife behind bars for several years, do you think they’d have Brittney’s back? And finally, are you and your wife having second thoughts yet about trashing our country with your hateful rhetoric?
Cherelle and Brittney Griner are learning a valuable lesson, but we can only wait and see if that lesson will register with them. America is unquestionably the greatest country on God’s green earth and the greatest nation that has ever existed. We should all cherish our good fortune for being American citizens. But America’s government, like all governments, is wholly inefficient. It’s the nature of the beast, and something we should all be aware of. Government is not the solution to all our problems, and quite often government is the problem.
So, if and when your wife Brittney ever gets out of that Russian prison Cherelle, here’s our advice: Give her a big hug, thank God for blessing you both with the honor of being American citizens and remember this unfortunate incident. And think twice the next time you want to advocate for Democrats and their quest for bigger and more intrusive government.
