It was stated that a collegiate football player in Arkansas suddenly fell over the weekend, and he subsequently passed away shortly after. He had only turned 21 years old at the time.
The tragic death of Clark Yarbrough was announced by Ouachita Baptist University in a message posted to Twitter on Sunday from the university’s official account. In the statement, the university expressed its deepest condolences to Yarbrough’s family and friends. No further revelations have been made on the circumstances surrounding the death of the defensive lineman.
According to a statement released by the university, “Today the Ouachita community mourns the death of senior Clark Yarbrough, who died this morning following a sudden collapse. Join us in praying for his loved ones and those who were close to him. In the coming days, additional details on on-campus meetings in the wake of this tragedy will be made public.”
A note that was posted on the website of the school indicated that after the player passed out, urgent assistance in the form of emergency care was offered by the school, followed by the arrival of emergency personnel. After that, he was taken to the Baptist Health Medical Center in Arkadelphia, where he was pronounced dead a short while later.

In the letter the school sent out in memory of Yarbrough, they referred to the late athlete as a humble leader and said other kind words.
According to Dr. Rickey Rogers, who serves as the vice president for student development at Ouachita, “Clark was an exceptional student in all three realms: academics, athletics, and spirituality.” “He had a deep commitment to his Christian religion, and it was clear to see in the way that he led the other students in his class and conducted his life.”
Clark was described as being that kind of young guy by his head coach, Todd Knight, who claimed he was always thinking and planning for what was next.
James 4:10 was the football player’s favorite Bible verse, and he tried to live his life in accordance with its teachings. “He wanted to be an athletic director and was already making plans for internships and graduate school,” Coach Knight shared as he explained that the deceased football player had lived out his favorite Bible verse. It says, “Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will lift you up.”
One of Yarbrough’s teammates, Jason Jackson, described the Tigers player as “a special kind of guy” who always made him feel welcome. Yarbrough has been a member of the Tigers organization since 2002.
He went on to say that Clark was a genuine Christian brother to him at the brand-new university, where he had at first had the impression that he was the only one there. Clark was his first friend when he arrived there, and he will always hold a special place in his heart for him.
