One of my favorite things about Donald Trump, besides his rock-solid policy, was his willingness to take people to task. He didn’t mind putting someone in their place or cutting them down a little if he felt the need. Unfortunately, part of Trump’s undoing, besides Covid and the obviously flawed election in 2020 was his willingness to be abrupt and abrasive, and yes, sometimes mean. Turns out when half of the country is comprised of snowflakes, a little heat makes them melt. Who knew?
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is cut from much of the same cloth as Trump was. DeSantis will tell it like it is, and he doesn’t care about feelings. The difference between Trump and DeSantis however, is the latter has yet to cross over and get mean. Now to be clear, I don’t care about mean. This country has far too many people that are always up in their feelings. Our main competitors on the world stage like China and Russia do not give one damn about feelings, and it is hurting our strategic advantage.
As DeSantis continues to gain traction for a 2024 presidential bid, his opponents, like Greasy Gavin Newsome are taking all the shots they can at him, and Heavy D is firing back. Check this out from The Blaze:
A rhetorical feud broke out between the Democrat governor of California and the Republican governor of Florida over migrants that were sent to Martha’s Vineyard in Massachusetts.
“Those migrants are used as pawns to humiliate and dehumanize,” Newsom said at a media briefing Friday.
“What Ron DeSantis is doing is a disgrace.
He’s got kids. I have kids. You saw those young girls with backpacks, no older than his children, my children, being used as political pawns, and now he’s using it to fundraise. To raise money. It’s disgraceful. He’s a disgrace.”
What a mouth without a brain like Greasy Gavin fails to acknowledge is, these folks volunteered to get on those planes and busses. They were fed and housed, probably better and more comfortably than the migrants at the processing centers in the overwhelmed border towns. The fact that Democrats are convincing or incentivizing some of these folks to say they were tricked isn’t being mentioned by any Dems.
These young girls with backpacks are safer on planes and busses going to sanctuary cities than they are waiting it out back at the border.
When asked about Newsom’s comments, DeSantis fired right back.
“All I can say is I think his hair gel is interfering with his brain function,” DeSantis joked.
DeSantis doesn’t feel the need to justify transporting migrants and making it a big political dust up in the media, because he and Greg Abbott are proving a point. Gavin Newsome is taking every advantage of the situation to portray it as some humanitarian violation, which it is not. Point, DeSantis!
Since Newsome can’t figure out when he is bested, he of course fired back with a hilariously misguided challenge he shouldn’t want any part of.
Hey @GovRonDeSantis, clearly you’re struggling, distracted, and busy playing politics with people’s lives. Since you have only one overriding need — attention –let’s take this up & debate,” he tweeted.
“I’ll bring my hair gel. You bring your hairspray. Name the time before Election Day,” he added.
Personally, I am partial to the “dry look” of DeSantis versus the “wet look” of Greasy Gavin. It’s not 1987 Gavin, maybe think about using a little less mousse? Of course, I am also partial to the way Florida is thriving and booming under Ron DeSantis as opposed to how California is crumbling under the “leadership” of Gavin Newsome.
I don’t expect DeSantis to take Newsome up on the offer, as he has a state to run and a presidential race to think about, while Newsome is busy putting up billboards in other states. However, one can only hope. DeSantis would savage Gavin Newsome in a debate, exposing him for the lightweight politically and intellectually that he is. Let’s do this Heavy D! Take Newsome up on his misguided offer, America needs a good laugh!
