I love ice cream, always have. When I was a kid, we made the absolute best pineapple homemade ice cream you could imagine. It was worth the hours and hours of cranking by hand. It was a hard day’s labor, but the results were so worth it. Later on, we got an electric ice cream maker, and while it also created delicious ice cream, it just wasn’t the same as hand cranking.
As an adult, thanks to a wonky disposition and a general intolerance of lactose, I have had to largely give up dairy and dairy products. Bummer. I will still have an occasional small bit of ice cream, because I love it, but you know what else I love. America! Which is why I NEVER purchase Ben and Jerry’s. Never have, never will. I don’t care if they had a special flavor that came with a twenty-dollar bill in it, I wouldn’t buy it. Of course, considering how overpriced it is, all of their flavors should come with a twenty-dollar bill in it. Just saying! Ben and Jerry have consistently expressed anti American, anti-capitalist views. Pretty ironic considering how much they profit from selling overpriced ice cream in a capitalist country.
Recently Ben and Jerry made the unprecedented move of suing their parent company, Unilever. You won’t believe why! Check this out from Breitbart:
Ben & Jerry’s took its parent company Unilever to a federal court in New York on Monday for the first hearing in its quest to stop the multinational from allowing its ice cream to be sold in Israeli settlements in the West Bank.
“… founders Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield appeared on MSNBC, where they claimed Unilever had violated their merger deal signed 22 years before.”https://t.co/DDU3wr6bzB

Say what? Aren’t Ben and Jerry both old, ex-hippy Jews? What in the name of Coldstone Creamery is going on here? Why would two woke, Jewish social justice warriors want to deny their own people overpriced, fatty heart disease?
Apparently, B and J do not believe Israeli people should be living in the West Bank area of Palestine, so they decided as part of their protest, they would just deprive them of a frosty treat. Rather than let the Israeli’s and Palestinians decide who should live where on their own, Ben and Jerry decided to take “action”. Way to go fellas. That’ll show them!
Unilever, for their part just wants to sell ice cream and make a profit, so they sold the rights to the area to an Israeli licensee that happens to be a Jew.
The announcement came almost a year after Ben & Jerry’s said it would stop the sale of ice cream in Jewish settlements in the West Bank, for being “inconsistent” with its values.
A month later, Arizona became the first state to divest all public funds — amounting to more than $140 million – from Ben & Jerry’s and Unilever over what it deemed was an “anti-Semitic” move, and several other states followed suit soon after.
It actually is antisemitic to deny selling a product to a certain people because you don’t like where they live. Why can’t a Jew in the West Bank have “Cherry Garcia”? Besides the fact that it’s nasty, of course.
Michael Ashner, an investor who is very active in the fight against the Ben & Jerry’s boycott, told the Haaretz daily that Ben & Jerry’s refusal to sell ice cream in parts of Israel constituted an “existential threat.”
“If a multinational corporation can be pressured into divesting assets in the State of Israel, it’s the start of a slippery slope. We could not allow that to proceed.”
Unilever walked back the boycott, and announced the sale to Zinger. As its subsidiary, it is almost unprecedented that Ben & Jerry’s would react by suing Unilever.
This is akin to a franchisee for McDonalds suing the parent company, McDonald’s. Not a good look for the brand, and probably not a fight you are going to win. Especially when it’s a racist fight.
Ben and Jerry are wokesters and avowed Marxists, often supporting the most anti-American causes. It’s curious why they chose to restrict sales in another country when they have so many causes here. They were very vocal about abortion rights and voting rights, often ripping states like Georgis, but never stopped selling there.
I’ve always known that Ben and Jerry were left wing nutters. I didn’t care when they endorsed Bernie in 2015. But I stopped buying their product when they announced support for BlackLivesMatter and pledged to donate profits from their ice cream to support those Marxists

Ice cream co-founders and former hippies Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield were asked why the decision to boycott a state over its policies never stretched to Georgia and Texas, despite their vocal opposition to those states’ abortion and voting rights laws.
“Why do you still sell ice cream in Georgia? Texas?” McCammond asked.
Clearly stumped, Cohen, a Bernie Sanders supporter, shrugged his shoulders. “I don’t know,” he said, laughing.
“You ask a really good question and I think I’d have to sit down and think about it for a bit.”
Just in case you forgot, Ben and Jerry are hypocrites. pic.twitter.com/77EGuUqmJh

The answer is pretty clear despite the head scratching take from Ben and Jerry. Profits. I’m sure there is much less profit in the West Bank than Georgia and Texas, and of course at the end of the day it is all about profit, right? Even for avowed anti Capitalists like Ben and Jerry. The adage “Go Woke, Go Broke” has become more of a reality, and we need to make Ben and Jerry feel the sting of bad policy. I think I’m going to treat myself to some Haagen-Dazs. It ain’t American, but it’s more American than Ben and Jerry.
