Studies show that politics breaks down to these basic principles, with 80% on one side, and 20% on the other, so why do some still overcomplicate matters?
These are times when you need to go back to the first principles.
Times when extraneous bovine soil enhancements need to be dismissed no matter the source. Whether it’s from the authoritarian left or ostensibly the ‘conservative’ right. So, let’s just talk about the basics.
It’s rather straightforward when you think about it.
There are just two primary political ideologies: Individualism and collectivism, Right/Left, Dexter/sinister, Liberty/Tyranny, and Good/Evil.
The Hidden Tribes study showed that the cruel, hard-core leftists comprise only 10 – 20% of the population, but wield an outsized influence.
This means the majority of individualists favor freedom, while a small minority of collectivists favor socialistic slavery since they think they will be in control.
On one side you have the ideologies of individualism: anarchism, libertarianism, conservatism, and liberalism. This is the pro-freedom right emphasizing liberty, private property rights, economic freedom, and limited government.
On the other, you have the ideologies of collectivism: Totalitarianism, communism, fascism, socialism, and leftism. This is the anti-liberty left emphasizing authoritarianism, common property, economic slavery, and unlimited-government.
Isn’t it curious that all those cruel connotations come from being on the collectivist left and that also means sinister or evil?
Sinister, today meaning evil or malevolent in some way, comes from a Latin word simply meaning “on the left side.”
Sometimes, you must wonder why certain terms end up as they are.
Some may find it an etymological oddity that the left is closely tied to the term. However, in looking at what those on the collectivist left are doing, is it that far off the mark?
Then we have the words of Abraham Lincoln, with a hard truth that rings the same as it did in 1864:
“We all declare for liberty; but in using the same word we do not all mean the same thing. With some the word liberty may mean for each man to do as he pleases with himself, and the product of his labor; while with others, the same word many mean for some men to do as they please with other men, and the product of other men’s labor. Here are two, not only different, but incompatible things, called by the same name- liberty. And it follows that each of the things is, by the respective parties, called by two different and incompatible names – liberty and tyranny.”
Abraham Lincoln
April 18, 1864 – Address at Sanitary Fair, Baltimore, Maryland
Take note where he stated: “the same word many mean for some men to do as they please with other men, and the product of other men’s labor.”
Doesn’t that describe the cruel societal slavery of the collectivist ideology of socialism with “From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs,”? With the same thing from the ‘brain trust’ of the collectivist far left Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) stated that the U.S. has “more than enough” money to take care of everyone in response to the illegal invasion threat. Sadistic tyrannical slavery lays claim to the time, labor, and property of other people.
Finally, we have a reference we normally don’t quote, but it seems very appropriate in this context:
Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!
Isaiah 5:20
Isn’t it interesting that is exactly what the anti-liberty left and the nation’s socialist media are doing at present? Incessantly spewing their big lie, trying to pretend people imbued with liberty and limited government are authoritarian socialists?
So, why do some people do so much to avoid these basic truths?
Well, that answer should be bloody obvious. The people who are unnecessarily complicating matters want to sell you the societal slavery of the cruel collectivist ideologies.
Those enmeshed in the ‘everything is complicated’ camp will inevitably point to outlier examples that seemingly upset the apple cart.
Remember, we’re talking about imperfect beings here, so the rules and examples will inevitably be imperfect.
The point is to reach a general understanding of the situation to decide what to do. Not to set out on the impossible task of developing a perfect model of an imperfect system.
We say this is the hard truth because it’s going to make a lot of people in the middle very uncomfortable as to what they are doing now. Because when you strip away all the bovine soil enhancements on the subject they can no longer hide behind philosophical nuance and pretend there is a middle ground in all of this.
People in the ‘never Trump’ movement and others in the middle who think that appeasing the sadistic socialists will keep them safe, or at least have better billeting in the ‘Democratic’ gulag later.
That is no longer possible these days, you are either with the supporters of freedom on the right or the enemies of liberty on the left.
There is no middle ground anymore, so everyone needs to choose. The fact is, the anti-liberty authoritarians of the fascist far-left are only 10 – 20% of the population, so you can be with them or the decent people of freedom.
