Congressman Crenshaw, the RINO that accused the real conservatives in the party of being “grifters,” is now coming after staunch conservative Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene yet again.
This time, he’s attacking her for reacting to her ban from Twitter, saying that she’s “playing the victim.”
Writing on his Instagram story, he said:
“Instead of playing the victim about censorship maybe use your position as a LEGISLATOR to help pass LEGISLATION against censorship. Luckily I’ve already done all the hard work for you and drafted a bill that would change Section 230 to prohibit political censorship.
Want to co-sponsor before I introduce it? Or prefer to keep up with petty and childish attacks? Your call.”
He included a link to the proposed legislation, which would “limit immunity under such section for actions based on racial, sexual, political affiliation, or ethnic grounds” and “preserve access to lawful content and prevent discrimination and unfair methods of competition on the internet.”
If effective, it’s about what America needs to win in the fight against Big Tech for freedom of speech on the internet.
But Crenshaw is wrong in attacking MTG; she was just kicked off one of the largest social media platforms, something that will severely limit her reach, make it difficult for her to fundraise, and decrease her ability to point out the flaws of the left to a large audience
So, of course she’s furious and launching blistering attacks from the platforms she’s still on against Twitter and Facebook, both of which banned her.
Responding to Crenshaw’s post, Greene said that he:
“spends more time attacking America First Republicans because he (not so secretly) hates Trump, is talking about a bill to ‘hold Big Tech accountable!’ but is the same type of toothless bill the Paul Ryan types try to sell to make it look like they’re doing something.”
And that’s where MTG hit the nail on the head; Crenshaw’s bill would be a great one if pushed by men like Josh Hawley and Rand Paul, real fighters that want to take the tech oligarchs on. But does Crenshaw? Given his attack on the staunchest conservatives, that’s unclear.
Responding to MTG, Crenshaw said:
“That Marjorie scoffed at the notion of supporting anti-censorship legislation is indicative of her true intent: to remain a victim. She doesn’t want solutions and she doesnt [sic] care if you get censored. She just wants to be a victim so she can keep asking you for campaign donations. It’s a scam.”
In that, he’s making much the same point he did when he called the Freedom Caucus members grifters.
Problem is, his accusations have no real basis; MTG is highly popular and from a deep red area. She has no reason to just keep pushing scams to raise fundraising, nor does she have a reason to shy away from attacking Big Tech, especially after being banned by it.
Rather, it’s much more likely that she is skeptical of joining forces with a RINO that attacked her for…being upset about being banned by Big Tech.
