WATCH: Tim Allen Puts Christ Back in Christmas With His New Miniseries on Disney+

Tim Allen’s new miniseries “The Santa Clauses” came out on Disney+. To celebrate, the former “Home Improvement” star said that the show is trying to put the “Christ” back in Christmas. Can you believe it?  This is amazing!  Here is what he had to say, according to TMN.

“How exactly religion will come into play remains unclear, especially considering the original trilogy of films never explicitly went in that direction,” Andi Ortiz wrote for the magazine. “But, according to Allen, it was important to him that ‘The Santa Clauses’ did, and avoided any kind of crazy creatures or spirits.”

“It originally had a lot of otherworldly characters, and ghosts, and goblins. I said no, this is Christ-mas. Its Christ-mas. It literally is a religious holiday,” Allen explained. “We don’t have to blow trumpets, but I do want you to acknowledge it. That’s what this is about. If you want to get into Santa Claus, you’re gonna have to go back to history, and it’s all about religion.”

Allen warned viewers that the religious part of the miniseries doesn’t show up until the fifth or sixth episode, so you will need to be patient. He also said that the writers found a “brilliant way” to include Christianity in the show.  But to figure that out, you will have to watch it.

He said, “It’s really wonderful. They took a chance, and we really did well with it.”

Allen only had one requirement for the miniseries before he agreed to do it: it had to be true to the movie series he started in 1994.  I respect that and appreciate it.  There is nothing worse than creating Part Two or a Miniseries and having it be completely different from what the original movie portrayed.  If you need an example, watch the original X-Men.  They completely botched that up.

“It’s a strange thing, on ‘Last Man Standing’ I was also EP and I knew where I wanted to go with that. And Jack Burditt was also the writer of that, that he is with us. And it’s not easy for him or for me,” he stated. “I write, I’ve written movies and I’m really the plot guy. So that’s kind of where I’m at with this. And I get very confused with too much detail.”

“I need to know where we’re going at the end of this beat. And it took quite a bit of massaging from both the Disney folks and Jack to get chapter one — which I call [this] a six-chapter book — I needed that to launch this thing,” Allen added. “Respect the last one and let’s not be too gamey with it.”

Allen also talked to Forbes about how he’s been able to stay in Hollywood for so long, with hits like “Home Improvement” and “Last Man Standing” in his career.

Allen said that he just adapts, adding that streaming services have changed everything in the business and made it so that everyone has to be more politically correct than ever before.

“What motivates me is creativity and entertaining and making people excited, funny, happy, whatever we’re attempting to do,” he concluded. “So to me, it’s all about the union and the crew. If everyone is taken care of there, I’ll get taken care of. We’ll figure that out.”

Allen is one of the few elites in Hollywood who isn’t afraid to talk about how conservative he is, which is very rare today.  I admire him for standing up to the woke mob and cancel culture by bringing Christianity into his new show.  I’m not a big fan of Disney+ with how woke they have become, but I think it’s well worth it to sign up for it just to check out this new series. I’m sure this will be another yearly favorite to put on everyone’s Christmas Movie list.
