If you’re a Democrat politician and even Chuck Todd, a media figure that works for NBC and has shown himself to be nothing more than a Democrat apparatchik, is slamming you, then you’re in deep trouble.

As you can hear in the video, Todd tears into Biden, saying “Our new NBC News poll suggests Mr. Biden does need a reset, because he’s lost his identity a bit. He’s no longer seen as competent and effective, no longer seen as a good commander-in-chief, or — perhaps most damaging — as easy-going and likable.”
Very true, though it’s surprising such words are coming from a mainstream media figure.
It was then that Todd moved onto the midterm figures, which were damning for Brandon. According to NBC, the topline result is that Brandon now has a 43% approval rate and 54% disapproval rate. That might sound high, but, as The Conservative Treehouse notes, remember that “when NBC presents a bad polling outcome for any democrat, you can be positive the outcome is far worse.”
So, though the topline result itself was bad enough that even Chuck Todd had to rip into Biden, it’s likely even worse.
Still, the results were pretty bad. The NBC poll also showed that Brandon’s approval rate has fallen off a cliff with Independents. In fact, it’s gone from 68% in April to 36% now. It’s declined by almost 50% in less than a year.
And it’s not like he’s doing that much better among other demographics. His approval rating among blacks has also dropped precipitously, going from 83% in April to 64% now. While not as bad as his rating with Independents, it’s still pretty terrible, especially considering that blacks are normally overwhelmingly pro-Democrat.
Similarly, among Latinos his approval rating has dropped significantly, going from 59 percent in April to 48 percent now. Again, that’s a traditionally Democratic voting block that’s now turning away from Brandon in massive numbers.
Among women and young people too, both being other traditionally Democratic voting blocs, support for Brandon has fallen off a cliff. Among those 18-34, his approval rating has dropped by a massive 16 points, going from 56 percent in April to 40 percent now. Among women, he experienced a not quite as steep but still major decline, going from 61 percent support in April to 51 percent now.
Those results are major, major problems for Brandon. On one hand, they’re likely better than reality, given that NBC’s polls typically skew to the left. So what looks like bad results might, in reality, be absolutely terrible. Then, on the other hand, there’s the fact that he’s losing so much support from traditionally Democratic demographics. Among young people and Latinos especially, his support is hitting dangerously low levels.
And that’s all before the right direction/ wrong direction poll results are taken into account. In that poll, 72% of Americans said that Brandon’s America is headed on the wrong track.
Speaking on that result, Todd said “Second poll in a row that we’ve been over 70%.This is only the third time in our poll’s history in over 30 years where we’ve had two tracks that off. That again, would put you in shellacking territory for the party in power.”
Shellacking territory indeed. Let’s go, Brandon.
