As Joe Rogan uses his platform to blow up CNN for being a terrible, “full of sh*t” network and attacking those that use the alt-right label to slander opponents, UFC head Dana White is using his platform to attack those that are trying to cancel Rogan.
Appearing on the Full Send podcast, Dana White and the others began to discuss Rogan about 43 minutes into the episode. Watch them here:
As you can hear, White attacks the letter that was supposedly written by 270 “doctors” and demands that Spotify remove Joe’s podcast, claiming that it must do so because he spreads Covid-19 “misinformation.”
Specifically, in the letter, they say:
n Dec. 31, 2021, the Joe Rogan Experience (JRE), a Spotify-exclusive podcast, uploaded a highly controversial episode featuring guest Dr. Robert Malone (#1757). The episode has been criticized for promoting baseless conspiracy theories and the JRE has a concerning history of broadcasting misinformation, particularly regarding the COVID-19 pandemic. By allowing the propagation of false and societally harmful assertions, Spotify is enabling its hosted media to damage public trust in scientific research and sow doubt in the credibility of data-driven guidance offered by medical professionals. JRE #1757 is not the only transgression to occur on the Spotify platform, but a relevant example of the platform’s failure to mitigate the damage it is causing.
The letter-writers also described the actions of Dr. Malone, the Rogan host and renowned researcher, as not only “objectionable and offensive, but also medically and culturally dangerous.”
Discussing that letter, he said “Well, I know they had come out and said it was 200, 250 doctors or whatever. I guess when they started researching these people, they weren’t really doctors.”
And while he’ll probably be attacked for saying that, he’s right. As ZeroHedge reported:
And of course, just three of the signatories are immunologists, roughly 10% are nurses or nurse practitioners, and 33 are some type of ‘assistant’ (professor, nurse, lab, etc.). In short – hardly any of these people are qualified to refute Malone, which is probably why they link to ‘fact checks’ instead of compiling their own response on the merits of what Malone said.
In any case, White continued his defense of Rogan after noting that the “doctors” weren’t really doctors, saying:
“You’re not canceling Rogan. And the thing is with Rogan, he’s a brilliant guy, he does his homework, and he knows what he’s talking about. And guess what? This is f*ckin’ America, and you can have your own opinion about these things, and you can voice ’em. That’s what this fuckin’ country was built on. And all these little whiny f*ckin’ p*ssies that don’t like it, too fuckin’ bad, man. Too bad.”
A vulgar comment, but an accurate one: despite leftist attempts to attack speech, the 1st Amendment does still exist and it does still protect those that say what they want to say expect for exceptional circumstances.
Liberals who are academics or tangentially involved in the medical profession being offended doesn’t count as something that justifies attacking free speech. Perhaps those “doctors” should read the Constitution.
Further, Rogan’s show gets over 11 million viewers on average, so it’s very, very unlikely that Spotify would listen to the fake doctors anyway.
Even if it did, as one of the hosts notes during the podcast, if anyone comes for Rogan then he has an army of viewers to call upon. Anyone coming for him would be in for a rude awakening.
