America-hating soccer player and political activist Megan Rapinoe has a multitude of pet causes that she champions, but the one for which she is most well-known, and for which her rhetoric is the most nonsensical, is her objection to ‘unequal’ pay for women athletes. Since Rapinoe is also a rabid promoter of LGBTQ+++ silliness, we must assume that her take on what exactly constitutes a ‘woman’ is somewhat convoluted, and we can only speculate on how her feminism aligns with her transgender drum-beating. But alas, that’s a discussion for another day.
During a recent appearance on Chelsea Clinton’s podcast (yes, Chelsea Clinton has a podcast… shutter), Rapinoe performed a curious math exercise. Take a listen:
One of the many things I admire about @mPinoe is that she never gives up, even when faced with seemingly insurmountable odds. On this episode of #InFact, we discuss the recent equal pay settlement that will impact generations of ? players to come. https://t.co/pufJ9CiHNf pic.twitter.com/hjSLQNaf7C

In case you missed it, let’s take a closer look at her quote –
“I think when people think about pay equity, or think about equality, it’s always like, well, I was paid, you know, $7 and I should have been paid $10, so there’s a $3 difference. Well, kind of, but also, what would I have done with those $3, and what would $10 have allowed me to do, as opposed to $7. And it’s just that sort of opportunity lost that we’ll never know. So, you can make up back pay, or you can have a different salary or whatever. But for what has already transpired, there kind of is no justice for that.”
Rapinoe’s rant sounds like some kind of woke, math word problem. We can only imagine if she was responsible for SAT questions, they might look something like… If a lesbian rights activist leaves Chicago on a train heading east towards New York going 45 mph, will she make it to Central Park in time for the Pride Protest so she can spit on a cop and burn an American flag?
Not only is Ms. Rapinoe irate that men soccer players make a lot more money than her, apparently she believes that even if, for some idiotic reason, a women’s soccer team owner was to pay her what the top men make, even then that salary wouldn’t be enough. Megan is a victim, damn it, and no amount of money they try to throw at her is going to change that.
Perhaps Rapinoe was absent from school the day they taught the class about free markets because maybe she was too busy tormenting and hating the boys in her class. So, let’s try and help Megan grasp that concept now.
The reason why women soccer players are paid less than men soccer players is that the soccer teams that men play on bring in an exponentially higher amount of revenue. And the reason why those soccer teams make so much more than women’s soccer teams is that hundreds of millions of people around the world are fascinated with the competitiveness and athleticism of the men’s teams. Whereas the only time anyone cares about women’s soccer is when they’re playing the World Cup, and even then, the interest is moderate at best.
In other words, Megan, the reason why you’re paid millions of dollars less than your male counterparts is that you provide that much less value to the owners in your league. If no one wants to watch you play, which they don’t, then those owners don’t have as much money to pay you.
So, Megan, if you’d like a further explanation as to why you’re only making $7 while the men make $10, give us a call, but here’s a warning… there may be some long division involved.
