Watch: Will Smith Loses It, Assaults Chris Rock During the Oscars [Uncensored]

While the people hired by the Oscars were mostly unfunny and uninteresting, someone on the hiring committee was smart enough to hire Chris Rock, who is at least funny.

He, speaking during the event, cracked a joke about Jada Smith’s (Will Smith’s wife) hair loss. Will Smith was apparently quite unhappy with that, and this was the result:

What happened was Rock, trying to make a joke about Jada Smtih, said “Jada, I love ya. G.I. Jane 2 movie, can’t wait to see it.” It was just a simple joke about her hair loss, but Jada Smith appeared upset by it and Will Smith took action.

He, a furious look on his face, walked up on stage and slapped Chris Rock in the face, then spun around and walked off.

Rock, appearing a bit shocked and also trying not to laugh, said “Oh wow, wow. Will Smith just smacked the sh** outta me.”

Responding to that, Smith yelled “Keep my wife’s name out your f***ing mouth!”

Rock, still seemingly shocked about the whole situation, replied by saying “Wow, dude. It was a G.I. Jane joke.”

With Will Smith still yelling about his wife’s name, Rock then moved on, joking that it was the “greatest night in the history of television,” then moved on to an award.

.While Rock did mostly succeed in moving past the event, it did come up afterward when Sean Combs won an award. Appearing on stage, he joked about the slap, saying:

“I did not know that this year’s Oscars was going to be the most exciting Oscars ever.”

“Okay, Will and Chris, we’re going to solve that like family at the Gold Party, but right now we’re moving on with love.”

While talk of the event then stopped at the Oscars, it was only beginning on Twitter. One post, for example, made a Jussie Smollett joke, saying “Jussie Smollett is saying Will Smith hit him too.”

Most jokes, however, were in reference to the fact that Jada Smith is cheating on Will Smith and has been quite open about that publically. Matt Walsh joked about that, saying:

Will Smith will not tolerate other men making jokes about his wife. He will however tolerate other men having sex with his wife. This is a man of principle.

News on that affair came out in 2020, when Jada Smith was speaking with Will Smith on her show, “Red Table Talk,” and reluctantly described her affair with musician August Alsina. Speaking on it, she described the affair as a “different kind of entanglement.”

Responding, Smith quickly encouraged her to be more specific, saying “An entanglement? A relationship.”

Jada Smith, responding said:

“Yes, it was a relationship. Absolutely. I was in a lot of pain. I was very broken,” she replied. “Now, in the process of that relationship, I definitely realize that you can’t find happiness outside of yourself. … I would definitely say we did everything that we could to get away from each other, only to realize that that wasn’t possible.”

Despite that, the two have stayed married, with Will Smith’s status as a cuckold drawing many jokes on the Internet.
