It finally happened: Trump is finally starting to get revenge for the injustice perpetrated on him during and after the 2016 election.
How? Perhaps in the most surprising way of all: through the bureaucracy. The FEC, in a massive step taken in recognition of what transpired during the Russia hoax, fined the Clinton Campaign and DNC for funding the Steele dossier and then lying about it.
The Washington Examiner, which reported on the yet to be released memo released by the FEC regarding the fine and punishment, reported that:
The memo said that the Clinton campaign and DNC argued that they were correct in describing their payment as for “legal advice and services” because it was Perkins Coie that hired Fusion GPS. But the agency said the law is clear and was violated.
It added that neither the campaign nor the party conceded to lying but won’t contest the finding. “Solely for the purpose of settling this matter expeditiously and to avoid further legal costs, respondent[s] does not concede, but will not further contest the commission’s finding of probable cause to proceed” with the probe, said the FEC.
The FEC, in a memo to the Coolidge Reagan Foundation, which filed its complaint over three years ago, said it fined Clinton’s treasurer $8,000 and the DNC’s treasurer $105,000.
The memo, shared with Secrets, is to be made public in a month.
So, the fines aren’t massive. In elections where billions of dollars are spent ($14 billion was spent on the 2020 election), a few thousand dollars isn’t a significant expense.
But, the action is significant as a first step, as a recognition that the Clinton Campaign and Democrats were behind the Steele Dossier and resulting Russia hoax; many have known that from the beginning, particularly on the conservative side, but it’s still a massive step in the narrative war as it shows that even the bureaucracy is admitting that Clinton and the Democrats did something wrong.
Further, it’s yet another nail in the coffin of the Russia hoax: those loons that still believe Trump is a Russian asset won’t be convinced by what Durham or Fox News say, but an FEC action regarding Clinton might be convincing.
Even if not, the FEC’s ruling should prove helpful to Trump as he strikes back against Clinton and others involved with the Russia hoax in a “yuge” lawsuit; even the FEC admitted that Team Clinton and the Democrats were behind the Steele Dossier, the fake news match that set the Russia hoax ablaze, a fact that should prove helpful to his legal team as it proves its case against those involved.
As a reminder, it was indeed the Clinton Campaign and the DNC that were the ones funding the Steele Dossier: the DNC paid Fusion GPS $849,407.97 and the Clinton Campaign coughed up $175,000; those funds, funds both the DNC and Clinton Campaign claimed were to be spent on legal costs, but were, in reality, were spent on the Steele Dossier oppo research.
So, they lied about what use their funds were put toward and got caught and, in getting caught, demolished the narrative they spent so much time, money, and effort building. It’s yet another vindication and victory for Trump, a small step on the path to justice but one with potentially massive implications.
