The illegal immigration crisis is already quite bad; perhaps as many as 2 million illegals flooded across the border last year, swamping border resources and, upon making it past the line Biden won’t defend, being spirited around the country to often unaware and unwilling communities.
Well, now things are about to get a whole lot worse thanks to Team Biden revoking Title 42, a Trump Era immigration authority that empowered the government to more quickly get rid of illegals when they were caught on public health grounds.
In revoking Title 42, a major tool in the toolkit of those tasked with defending the border, Border Patrol union chief Brandon Judd said that Biden has effectively surrendered the border to the bloodthirsty cartels that line it and push their illicit cargo, namely humans and narcotics, across it.
Speaking on that issue to House Republicans, Judd said:
“We are ultimately going to wave the white flag of surrender. The cartels are going to control our borders.
“They’re going to create gaps in our coverage and going to cross more of their drugs, their fentanyl — and more of our U.S. citizens are going to die simply because this administration doesn’t want to give the proper policies to protect U.S. citizens.”
He then turned to slamming the so-called “catch-and-release” policy brought back by Biden, one where illegals caught are released into America rather than detained or deported. Ripping into Biden’s handling of that issue, he said:
“Catch-and-release is the single biggest driver of illegal immigration. If we reward people for violating our laws, people are going to continue to come.”
Judd certainly has a point. The amount of cash that the cartels bring in by smuggling humans and narcotics across the border is immense and gives them the ability to not only pay to bribe cops and politicians, but gives them the ability to buy weapons, raise their own private armies, and hire hitmen.
They’re immensely powerful entities because of the cash sent back over the border to them and the money paid to them by illegals that want to cross the border.
By effectively surrendering the border to the cartels, Biden is opening the floodgates of funding for the vicious cartels, giving them what they need to cement their hold over the line between the US and Mexico.
Yet worse for Americans is that such cartel control of the border will, theoretically, at least, exacerbate already severe problems caused by illegal immigration. Infrastructure and courts will be yet more overburdened, yet more drugs will pour into America and poison her citizens, and the illegal immigration problem will grow even more out of control.
Those costs, and more, are real. They can be felt by the average American. Immigration law exists to stop them from happening in the first place. Biden’s refusal to uphold that law is not only a shameful decision, but one that will have real, deleterious consequences for the average American.
