The proverbial hounds are being unleashed against President Biden, calling on him to resign for, “lying to the American people” and for the US withdrawal from Afghanistan and its aftermath. The military generals once again testified on Wednesday during a tense and, at times contentious, Senate Armed Services hearing which attempted to ferret out fact from fiction.
However, something can no longer be disputed after listening to both Generals Milley and McKenzie for nearly 9 grueling hours recounting their interaction with the president. They apparently put into writing their recommendations on a withdrawal strategy which all but confirms that Biden lied to ABC’s George Stephanopoulos when asked if he was ever advised to keep a contingency force of 2,500 troops in Afghanistan as a buffer against the Taliban.
Biden answered “no” and stated that no one advised him (to the best of his recollection) to keep a contingency force.
STEPHANOPOULOS: So no one told — your military advisors did not tell you, “No, we should just keep 2,500 troops. It’s been a stable situation for the last several years. We can do that. We can continue to do that”?
BIDEN: No. No one said that to me that I can recall. https://t.co/V2cn4QUdTp pic.twitter.com/AHJT417Iwi

BIDEN: “No. No one said that to me that I can recall. Look, George, the reason why it’s been stable for a year is because the last president said, “We’re leaving. And here’s the deal I wanna make with you, Taliban. We’re agreeing to leave if you agree not to attack us between now and the time we leave on May the 1st.”
Apparently that exchange along with the generals testimony was the straw that broke the camel’s back, for Tennessee Senator Marsha Blackburn calling on Biden to resign.
Biden lied when he told Stephanopoulos no one advised him against his timeline-based withdrawal. His recklessness resulted in the deaths of 13 US servicemembers and abandonment of countless citizens & allies. Biden can’t avoid the consequences of his actions. He must resign.

However, perhaps realizing that Senator Blackburn’s call for the president to step down, was gaining traction among her Republican colleagues, the mainstream media went on full alert mode, attempting to spin the facts in the President’s favor.
First up, Washington Post fact-checker Glen Kessler suggesting Biden was “imprecise” concerning the 2,500 contingency force.
“Here’s the rest of his answer that was snipped from this RNC clip, presumably because it suggests he was answering a question about whether advisors said the situation would stay stable with 2,500 troops,” Kessler tweeted. “FWIW, Biden’s answers are imprecise and it’s not clear exactly what he’s referencing. He could be answering the 2,500-troop question. People should watch the full clip and judge for themselves.”

Next came Washington Post columnist Jennifer Rubin responding to a New York Times reporters article, highlighting Biden’s contradictions.
“George’s complete question: ‘Your military advisers did not tell you, ‘No, we should just keep 2,500 troops. It’s been a stable situation for the last several years.’ It’s the last sentence that was false and generals likely never said to Biden,” she wrote.

The mainstream media continued parceling every syllable, desperately hoping to rehabilitate lying Joe.
However, as of late Wednesday afternoon the contradictions continue to pile up as top Pentagon officials are now blaming the State Department for the disastrous withdrawal. In short, the wheels seem to be finally coming off the the Biden Administration’s self-described “clean record”.
