“Swamp Snake”: McCarthy Blasted for Comments about Trump

According to recently leaked audio of him talking to RINO Rep. Liz Cheney, GOP Rep. McCarthy, current House Minority Leader and the man likely to become Speaker of the House after a widely expected red wave in November, said that Trump should resign after the Capitol riot on January 6t, 2021. In his words:

I’ve a few discussions. My gut tells me no, I’m seriously thinking of having that conversation with him tonight. I haven’t talked to him in a couple of days. From what I know of him, I mean you guys know him too, do you think he’d ever back away? But, what I think I’m going to do, is I’m going to call him. This is what I think, we know it’ll pass the House.

I think there’s a chance it’ll pass the Senate, even when he is gone. And I think there’s a lot of different ramifications for that. Now, I haven’t had a discussion with the DEMs, that if he did resign, with that happen? Now, this is one personal fear I have. I do not want to get into any conversation about Pence pardoning. Again, the only discussion I would have with him is that, I think this will pass. And it will be my recommendation you should resign. I mean, that would be my take. But I don’t think he would take it. But I don’t know.

Well, Newsmax host Greg Kelly absolutely tore into Rep. McCarthy over those comments during a recent broadcast, hitting him for his seemingly weak temperament and refusal to stand up for Trump, particularly when behind closed doors.

Beginning, he hit McCarthy by hinting that he was a RINO and saying he’s “had doubts” about him for a while, saying:

Kevin McCarthy. Republican, they say? I’ve always had my doubts about him, but now? Well, they’re confirmed.

Then, after airing the audio of Rep. McCarthy supposedly claiming that he’d encourage Trump to resign over the Capitol riot, Kelly blasted him, saying

Kevin McCarthy is a swamp snake. He’s a career politician, and we don’t like him. Alright? He doesn’t belong there, and in a moment of crisis, he wet his pants. Sorry. And he was outflanked by Liz Cheney of all people!”

Kelly then mocked McCarthy for calling on Trump to resign after just one riot, particularly compared to how Democrats acted during the BLM riots (did any of them resign over that? No.), saying:

And he says the president should resign after one riot – that may have been facilitated by Democrats oh by the way?

He ended by calling for Rep. Matt Gaetz, a staunch conservative from Florida, to be made Speaker of the House instead of McCarthy.

Though that probably won’t happen given Gaetz’s youth and spot on the far-right of the GOP caucus, it could be possible that the recent audio could stop McCarthy from becoming Speaker and give someone else an opportunity to take the position.
