Democrats are facing a nightmare scenario with six months to go before the midterm elections. A majority of their base doesn’t know that their party is losing support with one of their major constituent groups, Hispanic voters.
Hispanics. They are rapidly becoming Republicans.
Their problems are compounded with President Biden failing miserably, as shown in recent polling. In response, leftists are spending a lot of time on defense, trying to shift the blame for Inflation, immigration, the war in Ukraine, and the still-lingering COVID-19 pandemic to former President Trump. This makes for a depressing political atmosphere for President Biden’s party.
Statistically, the Democrats also have history against them. When a sitting president’s approval numbers are well below 50%, his party loses seats in the first midterms during his presidency.
Democrats have experienced some really bad past midterm results, still visible in their rearview mirrors. The party’s support collapsed during the first midterm elections of President Clinton and President Obama. In 1994, with Clinton in the White House, Democrats lost a net 54 House seats. In 2010, under Obama, they lost 63 seats.
Just like what happened over at CNN+, those who live in radical political bubbles, white progressives, are making decisions unaware of what the American landscape really consists of. CNN’s new platform was rejected by America and is closing after only one month since it launched. after spending $300 million dollars.
These same white liberals have for years pushed the narrative that the GOP was too extreme on immigration enforcement, insisting wrongly, that Hispanic citizens wanted open borders, and have softened on their religious and social issues views.
Had the party stayed in the middle lane as former President Bill Clinton did so effectively, they could have won over the Hispanic voter group permanently, similar to what they have done with black voters, typically receiving over 90% support in major elections.
Instead, the party went too far left by attacking core family values which are still very important to the Hispanic culture and forcing everyone to wear masks which is not polling well, for any group except Kool-aid drinking radicals.
What is interesting is President Biden, a Democrat, previously said that another important, but similar base, Latino voters, is not monolithic. During the 2020 campaign, Joe Biden said in remarks that the Latino community is “incredibly diverse,” “unlike” the Black community.
“Unlike the African American community, with notable exceptions, the Latino community is an incredibly diverse community with incredibly diverse attitudes about different things,” Biden said. “You go to Florida, you find a very different attitude about immigration than you do in Arizona. So it’s a very diverse community.”
A liberal data scientist, David Shor, formerly of the Center for American Progress Action Fund is now crunching numbers for Blue Rose Research. Shor was adamant that Democrats doubling down on immigration was a losing proposition.
That Democrats had lost the ability to connect with voters who weren’t like them. That liberals need to be aware that they are the minority, and that nonwhite voters, even those who have backed Democrats for years, were not as ideologically rigid as the white college-educated lefties that now dominate the party base.
In 2022, that has caused decay that is lethal to Joe Biden. Jorge Bonilla called Biden’s collapse with Hispanics “catastrophic.” Ben Domenech, the co-founder of The Federalist, zeroed in on a few of the main reasons why Hispanics are now GOP voters.
The first is that white liberals believed that all Hispanic voters were the same on the immigrant experience. Second, the Democrats are led by “Ivy-League idiots.” Third, the white woman Instagram brigade isn’t real life.
Lots to unpack with this latest Q-poll and Biden’s 26/54 among Hispanics, which is CATASTROPHIC. Some brief thoughts below: https://t.co/f1v99SiDbq

Hispanics are Republicans now not because the GOP did such a great job – it’s because Democrats are a party run by Ivy League idiots with Ivy League values.

Democrats, I have terrible news for you.
Hispanics are Republicans now.
We’ll give you a minute to think about what you did to make this happen. https://t.co/3q3Rl02X6o

“The real question for Democrats is whether this White Woman’s Instagram Coalition they’ve created has any place for the pro-life Hispanic mom,” he wrote. “If it doesn’t, they’ll be the ones who look like they made the wrong bet.” Domenech elaborated more on his Substack (via The Transom):

I don’t think the left has the ability or interest in dramatically changing their approach to elections and will continue to rely on messaging and big tech to try to win elections.
By ignoring the Hispanic and other minority groups though, they may be in for a huge shock in the 2022 and 2024 elections. It will be interesting to see what the minority voting percentages end up being when the dust settles.
