WOKE General: Too Many Air Force Pilots Are White Men

When in doubt, leave it to a General to advance the Biden administration’s woke, anti-racist, social justice objectives.

This time it is Maj. Gen. Ed Thomas, the commander of Air Force Recruiting Service.

In a typical fashion, the military leader’s justification for stripping away opportunities from otherwise qualified individuals looking to fly jets for the Air Force is because of the now unacceptable high percentage of active-duty pilots with white skin.

The military has also overall abandoned its traditional fitness tests and core competency requirements in order to allow weaker, slower, and less intelligent recruits to serve.

In his argument for the need for more diversity, General Thomas said The Air Force should start looking to recruit people of color and women instead of relying on the steady flow of college graduates, many of who happen to be men with white skin to fly their jets, in part because of the death of the drug attic George Floyd.

Floyd died while in police custody leading to BLM riots and leftists increasing calls for racial equity.

The General wrote: ” Amid this, our country has been compelled to reflect on issues that are often uncomfortable, and leaders have been driven to examine their organizations in ways like never before. The Air Force, in many ways, is no different. But as a war-fighting organization we cannot afford to squander this moment, because our future — and national security — depends on it.”

“Pursuing equality means we must be sure that we are attracting the most capable members of our society, from all races and walks of life, as we prepare for the next fight. This fighting force should be highly capable while reflecting the diversity of the country we serve. Before I even took command of my service’s recruiting efforts this spring, Air Force leadership made it clear to me that improving diversity would be on the top of my to-do list. And recent national events only serve as an accelerant as we take aim and tackle this vexing issue.”

According to the General, Pentagon leaders are now calling diversity “a war-fighting imperative.” It’s been clear for some time that our progress in better reflecting the society we serve has been too slow.”

“We simply can no longer afford for significant segments of our society to be underrepresented in our U.S. Air Force or our newest branch, the U.S. Space Force,” General Thomas added.

The pool of youth qualified to serve in the military is ever-shrinking. According to The Heritage Foundation, there is a Looming National Security Crisis: Young Americans Unable to Serve in the Military.

“The military depends on a constant flow of volunteers every year. According to 2017 Pentagon data, 71 percent of young Americans between 17 and 24 are ineligible to serve in the United States military. Put another way: Over 24 million of the 34 million people of that age group cannot join the armed forces—even if they wanted to. This is an alarming situation that threatens the country’s fundamental national security. If only 29 percent of the nation’s young adults are qualified to serve, and if this trend continues, it is inevitable that the U.S. military will suffer from a lack of manpower. A manpower shortage in the United States Armed Forces directly compromises national security.”

To me, the military should focus on recruiting the most qualified men and women, as they always had prior to Obama, instead of trying to fill in blanks with a predetermined number of non-white, non-male, and homosexual recruits.

But hey, I am an older white USMC veteran who happens to be a white male, so what do I know in 2022?
