In response to red state actions limiting access to, and in some cases banning outright, the heinous act of abortion – and now with an anticipated reversal of 1973’s landmark Roe decision – Amazon announced it would be reimbursing its employees for travel and other expesnes related to terminating a baby.
Reuters, breaking the story, writes:
“Amazon.com Inc (AMZN.O), the second-largest U.S. private employer, told its staff on Monday it will pay up to $4,000 in travel expenses annually for non-life threatening medical treatments including abortions, according to a message seen by Reuters.”
According to the terms of this new arrangement, employees will have their travel expenses covered if they live too far away from a facility or state that can accomodate their medical care, as it were. Amazingly, the company goes one step further and even promises to pay people back if they had an abortion prior to this new coverage. Incredible.
Reuters has more on this:
“Employees who live more than 100 miles (161 km) away from an operation and can’t get care through virtual means will be able to get the new benefit retroactively, Amazon said in a message. Those who live in the United States and work for a company that has a health plan with Premera or Aetna can apply.
On Monday, Amazon said that it would pay back some of the money that people paid for abortions. It doesn’t have to be life-threatening to get other non-life-threatening treatments, like cardiology, cellular gene therapies, and substance abuse disorder services. Separately, Amazon gives up to $10,000 a year in travel reimbursements for people who have life-threatening illnesses.”
For those interested in the math, or anyone curious enough as to how conservative consumers enable giant woketurds of companies to keep getting away with, in this case, literal murder, let’s break down what this means for Average Joe Red Stater:
Imagine you are an Amazon Prime subscriber. Today’s rates indicate that an annual membership is $139. I get it – that $139 opens up a world of nearly endless streaming options for television, shows, and movies. Most crucially, it provides for “free” two-day shipping and returns on almost everything. Considering what you get, this $139 is one of the best bargains out there.
Just know, though, that the $4,000 abortion reimbursement plan only requires twenty-nine consumers. There are twenty-nine homes on my block. If we all held Prime accounts with Amazon, we effectively funded an abortion. Now, I know this isn’t apples to apples, because this money could equally be viewed as building and launching Jeff Bezos’ space phallus, but the point remains the same.
Amazon, which has embraced infanticide (to go along with its cozy BLM relationship), hates traditional American values. In addition to its morally bankrupt social positions on race and murder, it’s also leading the way on promoting identity politics and ruining perhaps one ofnthe greatest works of art of all time: The Lord of the Rings series. Currently, it is remaking and reenvisioning Tolkien’s timeless masterpiece and grinding it up into an unpalatable sludge of racialized, sexualized, and feminist politics all rolled into one.
The next time you shop Amazon or give your money to any number of woke companies, this is where your money goes.
