More news about Clinton’s 2016 malfeasance just came out, this time from the retired Assistant Director for Intelligence, Kevin Brock.
He, when speaking about what the Clinton Campaign was up to in 2016 when speaking to Just the News, slammed the “information” about Trump and Russia it pushed as really being disinformation, saying:
“This is more than just political dirty tricks. Political dirty tricks usually have some foundation in truth. But they just made stuff up.”
Indeed, particularly the hoaxes in the Steele Dossier, which even CNN has more or less admitted was full of falsehoods, saying:
[F]ive years later, the credibility of the dossier has significantly diminished.
A series of investigations and lawsuits have discredited many of its central allegations and exposed the unreliability of Steele’s sources.
The Clinton Campaign, both funded and pushed that falsehood-filled dossier, and as such is responsible for spreading lies with it. Brock, discussing that and the exposure of the lies thanks to the efforts of Special Counsel John Durham, said:
“This is the way disinformation is really exposed, not by some contrived government agency, but by evidence presented in court that gets at the truth of what happened.
“What Durham is methodically doing, is laying out a case that the Hillary Clinton campaign, the Democrat Party used contrived disinformation in a conspiracy, in a conspiratorial way, to deceive the American voter ahead of the election.”
That particularly matters now thanks to the new “Disinformation Governance Board,” which probably would have labeled any discussion of the Steele Dossier being fake “disinformation” up until recently, when the truth about it was finally proven by Durham.
Discussing that and the nebulous nature of disinformation, something that carries with it a large number of dangers, Brock then said:
“I think that disinformation is in the eye of the beholder. I think most people suspect that all of this information will be information promulgated by one political party rather than the other. And so the danger of a governance board like this is that it will be beholden to the party that’s in power in government at that time to silence or mute opposition viewpoints.
“Now, DHS, the secretary has gone to great lengths to say ‘No, we’re just interested in countering Russian disinformation or Chinese disinformation on social media platforms. But it’s something that should be treated, and I think we are looking at it as something to be wary of.”
The Steele Dossier was obviously full of lies and Clinton, in pushing it, was effectively spreading so-called “disinformation”. Yet that’s not what the leftists behind the board care about, obviously. They’re more worried about claims of voter fraud and arguments about the Covid vaccines and such.
Disinformation is bad, as the catastrophe Clinton created with her Russia hoax showed us. But so is some new government group with a nebulous mission that would enable it to suppress political opponents. Let’s hope the GOP can stop the tyrants behind the board.
