One of the most difficult things for governments to deal with is repeat criminals.
The type of Individuals in society who have lost or may never have experienced a fear of authorities, thus the normal inhibitions which keep people in line culturally are not present in them.
When you add in incompetent and/or corrupt politicians, the communities they live in can eventually end up resembling war zones, such as the south side of Chicago.
Seattle, WA has had its issues with increasing crime and homeless for the past several years. Their Interim Police Chief, Adrian Diaz, told a city council panel on March 25, 2022, that the city has seen more than a 95% increase in shots fired and a 171% increase in people being shot, compared to last year.
One of those shooting illegally, a convicted felon, was arrested for burglary by the Seattle Police.
In some form of Karma, or whatever you call it, the police department reported that he shot himself in the head while trying to run away from the scene of a break-in in a north Seattle neighborhood.
The homeowner told police that he heard sounds coming from his garage around 7 a.m. on Wednesday. When he went to check it out, he saw a masked man in his garage. The suspect turned and ran with the victim chasing after him.
As the suspect was getting into a van, he pointed a gun at the victim and told him to “get back.”
The victim returned home and called 911 telling the police he heard a gunshot and heard the van speed away.
Officers arrived on the scene and began checking the area for evidence, and soon received a radio broadcast that a man had arrived at a First Hill hospital with a gunshot wound to his head.
Officers went to the hospital to talk to the injured individual and found he was wearing the same clothes the homeowner reported from the burglary earlier.

Police believe the man accidentally fired his handgun while getting into the van. They also learned the van he was in was reported stolen and had been used in another crime outside of Seattle.
When the suspect recovered from his injuries, he will be booked into the King County Jail for burglary, unlawful possession of a firearm, felony harassment, and possession of a stolen vehicle.
Channel 5 News is reporting that the city is actively trying to address the increasing gun violence.
“Jackie Helfgott, a professor, and director at Seattle University’s Crime & Justice Research Center has conducted surveys on public perception and concerns about crime and works with Seattle police for its micro-community policing program. Among the persistent concerns is a lack of police capacity.”
“While there’s no single answer to a solution to crime, increased police presence does play a role in reducing crime. “There are studies that show that increased police presence will most definitely address hot spots where there’s a convergence of factors that contribute to crime,” explained Helfgott.”
