In an inspired oration before the Senate, Senator Chuck Grassley (R- Iowa) demanded an investigation into the Biden family’s apparently close ties to and financial relationship with China. During the speech, in which he described a recently-completed report into the Biden family and addressed unfair criticism of the report, had this to say:
“[This report] shows the direct financial and legal relationship between Hunter Biden and individuals connected to the communist regime…[it] is yet another record that substantiates our report.
So, to my Democratic colleagues who falsely smeared our report: you now chair committees that have jurisdiction over these matters, I challenge you to use the same effort and energy that you exerted in the Trump/Russia investigation to expose the extensive ties between the communist Chinese regime and members of the Biden family.”

As Just the News reports, providing context for Grassley’s impassioned plea that the Congressional Democrats investigate the allegedly corrupt president:
The senior-most Senate Republican, together with Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI), released more evidence earlier this month showing Hunter Biden’s ties to Chinese businessmen affiliated with the Communist government.
The two senators initially published a “Biden Report” last year detailing “questionable financial transactions between Hunter Biden and his associates and foreign individuals, including the wife of the former mayor of Moscow and individuals with ties to the Chinese Communist Party.”
Democrats, however, appear unlikely to join Republicans in investigating Biden’s family’s business activities. Sen. Chuck Schumer, for example, parrotted a usual leftist talking point and said that Grassley’s report “reads as if Putin wrote it.”
So, while they likely won’t do what Grassley asked and investigate Biden with the same energy as they persecuted Trump during the endless Russia hearing, they’re still using the same, disproven talking points.
In case you don’t remember, the same allegation of Russian disinformation/interference was used to discredit the New York Post’s release of the Hunter Biden emails, emails that were later verified and confirmed to be real.
Still, it is possible that the information in the Grassley-Johnson report will gain traction, as some of it is quite shocking.
For instance, the report found that not only did Hunter receive a diamond from a Chinese company when he, Hunter, was struggling to pay his bills, but that the same company sent about $6 million to a company called Robinson Walker that made multiple payments to Hunter Biden. The report elaborated on those multi-million dollar transfers, adding that:
“At the time of the transfers, State Energy HK Limited was affiliated with CEFC China Energy, which was under the leadership of Ye Jianming. In the past, State Energy HK Limited transferred funds to at least one company associated with Hunter Biden’s business associate, Gongwen Dong …
“These transactions are a direct link between Walker and the communist Chinese government and, because of his close association with Hunter Biden, yet another tie between Hunter Biden’s financial arrangements and the communist Chinese government.”
The NYP reports that Walker, one of the players involved, later said that his role in CEFC was “being a surrogate for H [Hunter] or Jim when gauging opportunities, i.e. digging around in Texas on high speed rail with some of my republican friends … or hitting new countries and contacts abroad where things are lukewarm, but not hot enough for H to close or too odd for H to be present …”
Even if Democrats don’t want to investigate it, it appears that Sen. Grassley is right and that there’s a “there” there when it comes to the Biden family and China.
